Charles Koch: Trump Tariffs ‘Unfair’ to Foreigners

Billionaire plutocrat and GOP mega-donor Charles Koch says President Donald Trump’s tariffs on aluminum, steel, and thousands of Chinese-made imports are “ridiculous” and “unfair” to foreigners. Koch, who funds a network of organizations with his brother, David Koch, told the media during a conference with donors over the weekend that Trump’s ten percent tariff on imported aluminum and 25 percent tariff on imported steel was not fair to foreign countries and foreign workers.

The Trump administration has said the tariffs on imported goods are necessary to protect American jobs and industries from foreign competition where foreign-made products are sold much cheaper than U.S.-made products, driving U.S. companies out of business.

“This is ridiculous, we should just get rid of all barriers except on things that will hurt people,” Koch told the media, according to ABC News.

“Yeah, it’s unfair. It’s unfair to their people,” Koch claimed of the foreign countries and foreign workers who have been hit with Trump’s tariffs.

The Krotch brothers represent foreign interests over Americans. Screw them!

Considering their fidelity to the Sodomite Agenda, they would probably enjoy it.

“Or, is it unfair to the KOCH PORTFOLIO?”

Bingo!

From Wiki, about Koch Industries: “The firm employs 120,000 people in 60 countries, with about half of its business in the United States.”

Exactly. America first.
The Koch’s are just the latest to be threatened by the upset of the political machine and its handlers.

“Yeah, it’s unfair. It’s unfair to their people,”

Since when has any US politician been elected to look after the interests of foreigners? The fact that in prior years US Presidents and Congress have made agreements detrimental to the interests of US voters doesn't excuse continuing those agreements.

Charles Koch: Trump Tariffs ‘Unfair’ to Foreigners

It is not that “Tariffs” are unfair to foreigners but that is unfair to billionaires that need the low cost employees.

Portraying the selfishness of those at the top.

But it is not unfair for these countries to put higher tariffs on US goods and services than we put on them? What happened to reciprocity and real free and fair trade?

I don’t care about how many people think but YES I will pay $1 more for a 12 pack of soda or whatever to get our metal manufacturing back. I live in Texas but I can see demoralized Ohioans who their GF and fathers worked in metal plant manufacturing and now it’s gone. And people wonder why they are now demoralized and on heroin. For National Security alone, we need to bring back our manufacturing. I so go Trump and HOLD THE LINE.

Can you give any insight as to why Mark Levin has gone off the rails regarding this subject? Not the Koch brothers in particular but overall trade issues? Thanks

America Was Founded as a Protectionist Nation

What happened to America’s long protectionist tradition? In the end, America only seriously turned away from protectionism as a Cold War gambit to prop up capitalist economies abroad and tie them to the U.S. Geopolitics trumped domestic economics.

Ironically, our old protectionist playbook for economic development is the same one, in many respects, that China and other nations are using against the United States today. Back when we were the ascending economic power in the late 19th century, it was Britain that complained about “unfair trade!” They were right, of course—but given that nobody forced free trade upon them, it was their own fault. Today, having forgotten our own history, we can’t even recognize the game being played against us, let alone figure out how to counter it. We will continue to pay a high price in lost jobs and declining industries until we wise up.

Levin went off the rails on many things, trade being one of them. He supported reelection of Hatch. He was a big Cruz supporter over Trump.

There are times when I’m think I’m pretty lucky not to have attended the amount of college courses some of these people have.

Where does this guy come up with something like this?

To me, it’s nearly evidence of brain damage.
