The Meme of my life?
In a word, it could be “Waiting”.
Picture the TV intro to the soap opera “Days of Our Lives”.
That big hourglass on a black and white screen with the fine white sand always sifting away. Always in the process of emptying out.
Then you hear late actor Edward Macdonald Carey, who played Dr. Horton on that show.
“Dr. Horton” then says; “Like the sands through the hourglass, so are the Days of Our Lives!”. This is followed by a lilting flute solo and and later strings.
The theme for Days of Our Lives was written by
Tommy Boyce and Bobby Hart with a Charles Albertine.
Boyce and Hart’s biggest hit was “I Wonder What She’s Doing Tonight?”
You sound like you could WRITE the genre of your life. Oh...I think you just did! :)
“...because you can’t lose a friend you never had.”
“I Wonder What She’s Doing Tonight” was the theme song for my high school social life.
