Why should the taxpayers be forced to pay for this? Especially since none of these teams is losing money. This is the kind of corporate welfare the left claims to oppose

Last time I tried to build in King County it was 25k in city, county, and state fees. This didn’t include what I had to pay an engineering company to submit the paperwork.

It's more important to spend millions to house bums than fix crumbling stadiums. Everybody knows that.

Make sure you set aside a few million for power washing the sidewalks, though.

Your tax dollars at work.

It’s basically expropriation of funds that made the Stadium self-sustaining.

Next, they will be crying about how bad the stadium is, and how it will have to be rebuilt, 20 years early.

Well then then I'm voting against public arts, education , transportation and any other funding that doesnt solve the problem. Because it seems everyone is bending over backwards for the new Poster Child of guilt. Yet, it seems no amount of money makes a dent in the issue. Please, more pot shop. Injection sites, street car projects, bike share program, and other critical aid programs.

It’s just as ridiculous as the Rangers who are going to tear their their ballpark, which isn’t even 25 years old, and is still IMHO one of the better stadiums in baseball, it’s ridiculous.

to show you how crazy the social justice driven city council is, when a billionaire proposed building a NBA arena with his own money, one of the blockages thrown his way was that the building had to have an area for public demonstrations.

I am in agreement on this, thinking that public funds should never be used on sports venues. If they can’t do it on their own merits...the heck with them! Plenty of other more needy uses for that money.

The Seattle city council has a lot of work to do to catch up with San Francisco in the enlightened treatment of the homeless. Last year when they proposed pressure-washing the poo off the sidewalks a councilmember called it racist.

So glad I left.

“No public money should be allocated to fund sports venues.”

No kidding. Think of the BILLIONS of taxpayer dollars wasted in now-worthless football stadiums, since the only people left buying tickets are America-haters, and they simply don’t have the resources needed to keep those operations going.
