Clinical psychologist and University of Toronto Professor Jordan Peterson called out colleges for teaching “pseudo-disciplines” on “Fox & Friends” Tuesday and said they made a “dreadful mistake” by legitimizing imitation majors.
“I think part of it’s still a hangover from the 1960s,” Peterson said. “I would say and perhaps even a bit of a hangover from the Cold War.” (RELATED: Jordan Peterson Pushes Back Against Google’s Secret Police)
“I also think the universities made a dreadful mistake expanding their humanities purview to include disciplines like women’s studies and these ethnic studies disciplines, which aren’t disciplines,” he continued.
“They’re pseudo-disciplines at best. And they have very, very low academic standards and they’re corrupting the rest of the enterprise. And that’s not a good thing.”

People who take those stupid, made-up, majors, aren’t smart enough to be in college in the first place.
Does anyone doubt that among the pseudo-majors are sociology and political science (the majors of Michelle and Barky Obama, respectively).
Unfortunately they infest all levels of government.

Peterson is truly a cultural hero in the pushback against the cancer of PC (political coercion).
Love this guy. Part of academia, but completely fearless to call out BS when he sees BS.
Next step - call out the pseudo-jobs in higher ed administration, like “Chief Diversity Officer” and you’ll really see the fur fly.
True to some extent. But the Frankfurt School descendants, the university administrators, have also victimized millions of our talented (smart in other ways) young by selling their Marxist-Freudian-SJW farce.
I would go further and say that a Masters of Underwater Basket Weaving will not prepare an educated individual to deal with life as it is...
On the other hand a woman of color can major in “Aggressive Female Response to Societal and white-bigoted Studies” will land her a job for sure. Where? Back in Academia of course!

By any standard, both Sociology and Political Science are legitimate majors in the Social Studies discipline.

My daughter has just gone back to school to complete her degree. She has an Associates and is about 2/3 toward her bachelors. She loves children’s literature and introducing the excitement of books to kids.
She’s been a bookseller for several years but can’t really make ends meet in retail so she wants to be a librarian.
The educational cabal doesn’t recognize experience, only academics. To be a librarian, one must have a Masters in Library Science. She’s finally biting the bullet.
She found an outfit, I guess best describes as a college broker that will take her previous courses and life experience and customize a bachelors program of online classes from several universities. She’ll graduate from one of them, a legitimate brick and mortar university.
Because of scale, the cost is very reasonable.
She also just interviewed at a private school as a teachers aide. One of their benefits is educational assistance. Hopefully she gets that one. She was very excited about it.
As far as parental help, her younger brother just graduated as an aerospace engineer. We didn’t give him the money, we lent it to him, which I think is more responsible. As he pays it to us, we’ll lend it to her.
If you go to youtube and search on him, you will find a whole lot of subjects and presentations he has made. He is a very dangerous foe to the left because he actually makes sense and can back it up with facts.
I do not think it will be so easy to get rid of him as I don't think he will go down without a fight.
