“Contempt of court” seems to give judges carte blance to lock people up unjustly with little recourse.
Some dude in PA served 14 years cause he wouldn’t tell the judge where money (the ex wife wanted her cut) was allegedly hidden, he said he was broke but his majesty didn’t believe him.
