The Progressive Change Campaign Committee is funding an advertisement in support of Brent Welder, a progressive lawyer seeking the Democratic nomination in Kansas 3rd Congressional District.
The minute-long video, which consists almost entirely of a passionate segment from one of Welders speeches, banks on voters appetites for unabashed economic populism. Through its super PAC, the PCCC has purchased $30,000 worth of airtime to play the spot on the local morning and evening news in the Kansas City media market, starting Thursday.
The wealthiest of the wealthy take a tiny sliver of those enormous profits that they steal from us and use it to pay off politicians to keep it rigged in their favor, Welder tells supporters at a July 20 rally featured in the video. We gather here tonight to say, Enough is enough!
Welder, a union-side labor attorney and former campaign official for both Barack Obama and Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.), is in a close contest for the Democratic nomination in a district that includes Kansas City and many of its most affluent suburbs. The primary is next Tuesday.

If the GOP-e knew what they were doing...
Video of the Antifa protests in Oregon.
“The face of the new Democrat Party....coming to your hometown soon”
End of message.
Old WC Fields joke:
Fields: Was I in here last night?
Bartender (Shemp Howard): Sure.
Fields: And did I spend a $20 bill?
Bartender: Yeah.
Fields: What a load that is off my mind! ... I thought I'd lost it!
But a Marxist would say that the bartender stole the $20.
Excellent...but the bedwetters at the RNC/GOPe will never gi for it.
While that type of message seems as plain as the nose on your face, to the GOPe that would be the height of ungentlemanly behavior. I cannot fathom that the Paul Ryans of the world would ever green light such an obviously effective ad.
By the way, I note how the HuffPo claims this is a "populist" message. So now naked class envy, class warfare, is a populist message?
Given the disinformation over the Missouri Proposition A (Right to Work), this guys message may carry more weight than would be normal. Yoder’s position seems to work in his wishy washy district, but a big swing to the Left seems to be a bit much.
The new Democrat coalition is entirely reliant on the support of the very rich. Trump, by fighting globalism (immigration, trade, endless, pointless war with Russia), is finally making that fact obvious for all to see and it’s killing them.
Yoder it sidling with Trump an awful lot for a district that went for Hillary in 2016. Yoder's lasted this long do in no small part to the fact that the Kansas Democrats imploded about 8 years ago. They're rebuilding so the heat may be on. It all depends on how united the Democrats can get.
‘Steal from Us’? Really, hard work is now stealing? Amazing...
