I was raised with the “old fashioned notion” that TIPPING IS SOMETHING EARNED!!

Nowadays, all these damnable busybodies have made it “more the norm” for a restaurant or a restaurant delivery service website, to “gratuitously” fix a percentage on every order, prior to the amount decided to quantify the sales tax.

This precludes how the performance of your waiter/server was, and/or the condition of the meal, when ordered in house.

When I do tip, and it is warranted AND EARNED, I have always tipped 10% for breakfast; 10 or 15% for lunch, and 20% for dinner, whether the bill is $20 or $50 for me and my beloved.

Yep, and I’m speaking as someone who worked in a multiple of crappy bar and waitering jobs as a youngster.

I was GRATEFUL for any tips I received. The Young Marxists of today seem to demand that we hand over 30% or more on any meal, regardless of how good or bad service was.
