PHOENIX — An Arizona artist created a kickstarter campaign to raise money for a giant mural of Ariz. Sen. John McCain.
If the artist can get the funding, he would create the 30-foot-tall by 120-foot-long mural in Old Town Scottsdale.
Total, the artwork would be about 4,000 square feet. Aaron Bass began working with Chen + Suchart Studio and Eric Marvin to create a piece of art that would serve “not only a commemoration but a reminder that discourse and discussion are pivotal,” the website said.
The concept, tweeted by @mural_the, depicts John McCain’s face with an Arizona flag on the building at 4235 N. Marshall Way.
Half the star and rays of light on a typical Arizona flag are present on the concept, with the face of “The Maverick” that starts just past it.
The color shifts from red to blue with white features inside.

“Artists” Pretty much all of em are Rats. McTraitor is a hero to them. The R’s in AZ should be ashamed of themselves for allowing Juan to pretend to be a conservative long enough to win the Primaries. Can no one talk some sense into Joe and get him to withdraw?
The minimalistic primary colors, like a Che or Obama poster, abruptly changing from red to blue in the center of the senator's face - does that say "two-faced, divided loyalty" to you too?
And the star? It's the "Arizona star", although it would be equally at home on a Mao poster.
Clumsy, unsubtle symbolism, if you ask me.
