I felt that way about Moss. Shows very kind-hearted.
She was standing behind me at the register when we were initially taken hostage. She turned to me and said, “oh no, I left my daughter in the car while I came in to shop”.
And, after the gunman crashed into the store, the shooting started ... and the parking lot was filled with police snipers.
In 70 years, I had never seen that large a police presence in LA. It may well have happened, I just never saw it. There were probably 100 police cars, a hundred fire department cars and a lesser amount of paramedics.
The forensics have been done and the police have acknowledged that their bullet killed the young manager.
Atkin’s, not surprisingly, was charged with homocide for her death.
They moved the manager’s desk to where we were held hostage ... the register line that I was in.
They had special tee shirts printed up for the employees and the employees who were aware I was a hostage always come over for a hug.
I don’t know if you’re in a Trader Joe’s state, but they are already very friendly.

I know when there’s a serious crisis the LE presence is overwhelming. I live in Orlando and work at one of the hospitals— the day of the Pulse attack it was as you said- police everywhere, in great numbers. SWAT, plainsclothes, uniforms, all kinds of vehicles. They never know if it’s a one-off or if there will be more coming...
