It appears that the woman acted in heroic fashion in a terribly dangerous situation. She should be appointed Chief of Training for the Police Forces of the nation.

Big Question looms. Did the police cause the murder of the woman by firing at the gunman carelessly?? Check the bullets with forensic accuracy and don't sweep this under the rug.

A guy with a gun who already shot his GRANDMOTHER and led police on a chase that ended in a crash. He doesnt surrender he runs inside and takes more hostages

The forensics have been done and the police have acknowledged that their bullet killed the young manager.
Atkin’s, not surprisingly, was charged with homocide for her death.
