Trump administration not 'starry-eyed' about North Korea denuclearization, John Bolton says......

“There's nobody in this administration starry-eyed about the prospects of North Korea actually denuclearizing,” Bolton told "Fox News Sunday." “The president is giving Kim Jong Un a master class in how to hold a door open for somebody, and if the North Koreans can't figure out how to walk through it, even the president's fiercest critics will not be able to say it's because he didn't open it wide enough.”

Bolton also said that there might be a time when Trump has to call out Kim for not being serious about denuclearizing and the administration will have to admit that North Korea is “playing” the U.S.

“We are going to have to see a performance from the North Koreans. There's no question about it,” Bolton said.

Nobody thought he was. The President isn’t some obscure community organizer slicked into office by a political machine. He is an shrewd and hard-nosed businessman.

Donald J. Trump is proving who wants peace in the world. Hopefully Kim Jong Un will consider the alternative to that and do the right thing himself.

I absolutely agree....Trump never telegraphs what he’s going to do only that he intends to do it. Just because we don’t see it happening doesn’t mean it’s not being moved along. So we just need to buckle up and wait....he has not failed us in staying the course at all.

Well he's certainly stopped the trajectories faced that were handed him under Obama’s watch! That cannot be denied...and his approach has never been tried before so we shall see.

I find it extraordinary the propaganda machine in N.Korea has basically been ceased and taken down......that is huge Necessary in order to prepare the people for the changes of focus Kim is redirecting his people to.

The problem is not North Korea. It is its bribers and enablers: China and Russia.

Also, the South Korean government is under leftist leadership traditionally in support of *appeasing* the North into reunification. And while they encouraged the open dialogue Trump sought out, they are not as cooperative with U.S. on the *terms* of how this all should unfold as one may think.

He did it right. He put up front the best deal North Korea would ever see and they rejected it.

So, it means eventual war.

One downturn at Samsung, Hyundai, LG, or Kia and their socialism will collapse into what the Belgium’s as their own special hell or lot in life with no opportunity except socialism.

Having you sit down for about an hour or two of Radio Pyongyang, even tonight, with an English interpreter by your side, might cause you to adjust your statement a bit. ;-)

Well I'm not there to see or hear but here N.Korea 'dismantling' of sound equipment used to broadcast competing propaganda couple months ago...and reports they're taking down posters, signs etc.

They did thise things too under Clinton tactically and temporarily and then reverted to cheating, their usual dishonesty and shell games—ramping up the provocations again because they want another round of goodies and appeasement. This time will be no different and will turn out the same. They will be back to launching missiles IMHO by late autumn or early spring, Mark my word.

We may have changed Presidents but they have not and they are who they are, evil, cruel, foul, lying cheating bastards, and they are so with or without DJT. He’ll come around after this current round of nonsense runs it’s course. You can already see Bolton setting the stage for it...

It won’t be pretty, unfortunately.

It took Reagan and Gorbachev 3 yrs to even sign the INF deal... and Bush and Gorbachev the same time to sign START...It was never smooth sailing with plenty of setbacks before these were signed and implemented...

We all know the denuclearizing will be a long process, just by the dangerous nature of nuclear material itself. I expect this to be a bumpy ride, there's no way it can't be. The upside is the meetings continue...and SKorea is moving on this as well. Give it the time it needs...and don't forget there's a lot of people on this side working against Trump being successful in this.

They are stalling. There is a lot of analysis out there that denuc can actually occur realistically speaking much more quickly, more quickly than the very slow pace they are purposely doing and trying to shift the discussion to Peace Treaty and US withdrawal from the peninsula first. Which is what they have always done. It’s even got a name in Korean. Called the “ salami strategy “

Well N.Korea said from day one they wanted a Official End to the War and US withdrawal from the peninsula. So why would it be any surprise they continue to ask for that?

President Trump in response publicly entertaining that prospect, even without any substantial denuc movement forward yet by the lying, obfuscating Norks, was rather remarkable and I’m still amazed at it but fortunately they walked it back I believe afterwards, after about three or four other things he’s put out there shooting from the hip that State or NSC has had to have him revise it, back peddle or downplay.

You couldn’t pay me enough to have to work back there and be engaged in damage control like that.
