British Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn acknowledged on Sunday that anti-Semitism has surfaced in the party and apologized for “the hurt that has been caused to many Jewish people.”

His statement came in a three-minute video posted on social media on Sunday.

“Anyone who denies this has surfaced in our party is clearly actually wrong and contributing to the problem. I acknowledge there is a real problem of anti-Semitism that Labour is working to overcome,” he said.

Corbyn acknowledged that “we have been too slow in processing disciplinary cases of, mostly online, anti-Semitic abuse by party members. We’re acting to speed this process up. He pointed out that the number of offenders amounts to only 0.1 percent of the half-million party members, while saying that even one is “too many.”

“Jewish people have been at the heart of our party and our movement throughout history. No one should dismiss the concerns they have expressed about what has been happening in the party,” continued Corbyn.

The video comes two days after the Labour leader published an op-ed in The Guardian, in which he acknowledged that the party has “a real problem” when it comes to anti-Semitism, but strongly rejected the idea that it poses any threat to the British Jewish community.

“People who dish out anti-Semitic poison need to understand: You do not do it in my name,” he wrote in that op-ed. “You are not my supporters and have no place in our movement.”

Corbyn acknowledged some of the fiercest criticisms of his leadership on the issue, saying that the party must show more empathy, should have reacted more quickly to cases of abuse, and should have done more to consult the Jewish community.

But he described as “over-heated rhetoric” the argument made by three Jewish newspapers...”

KEYWORDS: antisemitism; apologize; corbyn; labour
He apologized, did he? How many conservatives have apologized for imagined or real faux pas-es, only to be hounded like Moby Dick. Any Labour government should never be voted into power, let alone one headed by this wanker.

Never mind the anti-Semitism. That's understandable. They had to choose between Jooos! and anti-Semitic Arab "refugeees," so they chose the latter, trusting in the self-hatred of assimilationist Jooos! who helped build the Labour party to ignore or rationalize the anti-Semitism as "anti-Zionism" or "solidarity with the Palestinians" until it will be too late. Useful idiots, Jooo!ish or otherwise, are a penny a pound after all.

Understandable, but intolerable. But that's just the cherry on top of the sh!t sundae of Labour die-hard socialism and globalism and opposition to Brexit, and the erosion of free speech and other vital civil rights.

It wouldn't matter if he apologized or not.

80% of secular Jews support the Political Left - no matter how radical or anti-Semitic.

In the Left’s playbook, apology is an admission of guilt, a signal for the sharks to stop circling and move in for the kill. Do unto them as they have done unto us. Apology not accepted. Too little, too late.

Seems some have written an editorial, a start.

Did they name names or just talk about the problem in their ranks in general terms?

Re: Editorial

I forgot to click through to see what the three Jewish newspapers had to say.

By the way - I've always liked your name.

I grew up in south Florida, and I always think of “Eleuthera” Island in the Bahamas when I see one of your posts.

My brother's best friend had a girlfriend named Eleuthera, spelled like the island, but without the “i” like your name.

Means “free man” in ancient Greek. Don’t know how the ioda got dropped in proper names. Just a poor autodidact.

All I know is it’s what made Jeremy kitty-kat Corbyn post this tweet. He mentions three Jewish journalists who did a joint editorial. Further investigation is called for.
