Governor Jerry Brown must allow the Free Flow of the vast amounts of water coming from the North and foolishly being diverted into the Pacific Ocean. Can be used for fires, farming and everything else. Think of California with plenty of Water - Nice! Fast Federal govt. approvals.

Nice to see this. Brown is one of the most corrupt gov around. He lets the almond growers get plenty of water and they make the peons not use water if they do they charge them.

President Trump: “I’m trying to help you.”
Governor Brown: “You won’t get away with it, you SOB!”

Trump is DEAD WRONG on this one.

LA is trying to steal Northern California’s water at the expense of Northern California and Delta farms and cities.

Let LA desalinate water or else stop trying to add more millions of people in a DESERT.

In any case NO WAY should Federal taxpayers subsidize LA water theft!!!!

If California would allow water to flow to the Western half of the San Jaoquin Valley (west of Highway 5) America could probably replace 1/3 of our fruit and vegetable imports from Mexico and Central America.

LA already destroyed the Owens Valley, let them drink NorCal dry too.

I think the key 'info' in Trump's tweet was that the EXCESS water was being dumped into the Pacific instead of being allowed to flow further southward.

They are dumping water into the ocean... why?

The farmers could use it

I am not seeing where you think Trump is dead wrong?

“...make the peon not use water[;] if they do they charge them.”

IMO, since it costs to divert water from the natural streams, and deliver it to end users, whether farmers, industry or householders, EVERYONE should be charged the same, exactly what it costs to provide it to those end users.

It’s all one state though, right? I mean, what are you arguing here?

Do yourselves a favor and do some reading.

Note that this site and the organization are both run by conservative, Republicans who have lived in the Delta for over 100 years.

The only pipeline California would approve is if we allowed them to divert water from the Columbia river. They actually proposed that several years ago.

You may be right on this. However, the water rights issue west of the Rockies is complicated. Too much Government interference and subsidizing for too long. Better to have the end users of the water pay the full and equal costs for their H2O.

You are an idiot and a liar. The Sacramento river dumps fresh water at the rate of 30,000 cubic feet per second into the Pacific Ocean. That is AFTER your precious delta and farmers get what they get. This is about control, not water. You want to continue to throw away 30,000 cubic feet per second of fresh water. Please sir, may I have some more?

SC is a carbunkle on that whole region. The Ogalala aquifer, the Colorado River, Northern California, etc.

They moved into the desert and complain they have no water. Water table is so low NorCal stopped getting fog for a number of years.

I’ve been in NorCal where there was barely enough water to sustain the streams. Most of the time there isn’t enough water in the north to sustain SC.

Now, you could install Thorium-fueled nuke plants ever 100 miles up the Cal coast and you could use waste heat to desalinate all the water you wanted.

You’d have to have a plan for the major byproduct - sea salt. You’d have 100s of tons of it in pretty short order.

Only problem with all of this is you can’t get Plutonium from a Thorium-fueled plant. Plutonium is more valuable than Platinum - hence the reason why we’ve been stuck with really complicated, incredibly dangerous Uranium-based plants for as long as we have.

Power is the by-product of a nuclear power plant. The main sellable commodity of a nuke plant is Plutonium.

Jerry Brown tried this during his first two terms back in the ‘70’s with the Peripheral Canal. It was shot down then. The current Tunnels project is more of the same.
