Full title is "Ruth Wilsons Character, One of the Principals of The Affair, Killed Off Actress Complained About Pay Parity"
It has been reported that Ms Wilson chose to leave the series. Perhaps...and correlation does not imply causality.
Nonetheless, I see this as yet another example of Hollywood hypocrisy, on the surface supporting equality while firing a "whistleblower."

They weren’t paying her the full seventy-eight cents for each dollar paid to Dominic West?

You get what you get, and you don’t get upset.
If you don’t like it, you can walk away.
If they don’t like your bellyaching, they fire you.
There is nothing new here.
PS: If you take it to the media and ask for sympathy after you get fired, they blacklist you. She’ll find out about that later.

What do you do when you find out the male actor is making 750,000 dollars per episode and you are only making 500,000 dollars for that same episode
Complain and threaten to go on strike, of course

She’s in the wrong business. If Ms Wilson was in the private sector outside of Hollywood and made this public pronouncement, she’d be the toast of America (even though she’s a Brit) and get her own talk show.

Women typically are not box office draws. I can probably only name three actresses I would go see a movie in, because they are in it.
Most people go to see a movie because of a male actor and that’s life.

It does not prove causality, but it certainly implies it, in the sense of being suggestive of it. In fact, that’s how the majority of science and math discoveries come about - by taking a deeper look at correlations.

Her character on Luther was extremely annoying. I wished theyd killed her off that show!

I think women can be. As with men, though, they have to be lookers to the nth degree. My impression is that this actress has character actor looks.

good!!
I recall years ago when "Friends" was the big hit show and the stars were screaming for more money.
I told the Mrs. they should have a season finale:
All six are in a car, laughing having a good time.
Suddenly, Pure fear registers on their faces, now bright from oncoming headlights.
Fade to black.
Sound-over of crying tires and busting glass.
Highway scene. Ambulances, Police cars, flashing lights, gawkers.
A body is placed into the ambulance, sheet covering a face.
Ambulance attendant to cop: "The rest seem to be ok. They were lucky"
Fade to black
Now the negotiations come: OK. Let's talk. We can have five friends or six. What are the offers?

I have followed the series from the beginning. I got tired of Alison and I was shocked she died, but I will not miss her. She was always so morose it seemed. I liked her in the beginning but just was meh the last season.
Cole is my favorite character.

I stopped watching it after the second season. It became really hard to follow (for me, at least) and I no longer had empathy for the Maura Tierney character (I thought Ms Tierney was a better actress, but to be fair I've liked her work since News Radio.

So tell me. Is her pay parity better now, or worse? Moron.

she has acting red in England I don’t think she will be idle. I support what she is doing. And the series will tank without her.,
