Leaders from Caribbean islands are urging President Donald Trump to take climate change seriously before they disappear due to extreme weather conditions, according to reports.
Hurricane season poses an existential threat to the islands as increased rainfall caused by climate change makes hurricanes stronger, experts say. Recently, leaders from the Caribbean began urging Trump to understand the gravity of global warming.
In 2017, we saw some of the most devastating and destructive hurricanes weve seen in our history, Selwin Hart, Barbados ambassador to the U.S. told The Guardian. This needs to be recognized.... This isnt some scientific debate, its a reality with loss of life implications. We need the U.S. to be back at the table and engage. Its imperative. We wouldnt have a Paris climate agreement without the U.S. and we need them back now.
Trump has repeatedly expressed skepticism about climate change, claiming that it was a hoax promoted by the Chinese to hurt U.S. businesses. The administration has also floated the idea of reviving the U.S. coal industry and drilling for more oil and gas, both of which would increase climate-warming carbon emissions. The U.S. has already produced more greenhouse gases than any other country, and most world leaders agree that it would be nearly impossible to fight climate change without the participation of the U.S.
With this in mind, leaders in the Caribbean are preparing for the worst, developing new revenue streams that can withstand the impact of climate change and collecting data to determine just how radically the future of their countries will change.

Nonsense.
Except hurricanes have been fewer and weaker.

Sea levels began to rise 18k years ago at the end of the last glacial period. They have risen about 135 meters since then which is an average of 7.5 millimeters per year. That is an average of 750 mm per century (29.5 inches) which is far more than the average over the last century.

From 1880 to 2000 sea level rose about 20 cm or just under 8 inches. Far less than the nearly 30 inches per century average over the last 18,000 years.
The most recent data from NASA shows a decline in sea level.
Inconvenient: NASA shows global sea level pausing, instead of rising
i totally understand their concern ... the Caribbean never had destructive hurricanes until Trump was elected ...
Or more frequent and intense. Or fewer and weaker. Or...... So, PDJT should say, it’s all a scam. If you’re worried, invest in life jackets.
“The U.S. has already produced more greenhouse gases than any other country....”
How’s that for a misleading statement? What about now? China, the rest of the world?
It is water temperature..more rain make the water cooler

“Caribbean Islands Want Donald Trump to Address Climate Change Before They Disappear”
even the National Enquirer doesn’t have headlines THIS ridiculous ...
If we discuss it, do they PROMISE to disappear?
This is all so very emotional. I don’t know how much more of this pathos I can take. ‘Scuse me while I kiss the sky and LMAO.
“...Caribbean Islands Want Donald Trump to Address Climate Change...”
Look up address for Albert Gore.....
If grain farming is not your thing, then there are only slightly more settled areas available in the Amazon basin.
Sure they need us. They need our money and then they need our money and the next thing you know, they need more money
The islands will not sink. They will not flood over with high water. The winds will not blow them away. THEY JUST NEED OUR DAMN MONEY.
Leaving the Paris Climate agreement was the smartest thing that President Donald J. Trump could do concerning the ongoing hoax. (I like typing his title and name out!)
So disappear already! Get out!
Awww! Isn’t that cute? They think someone would notice.
The premise of this article is that either global warming is (a) Trump’s fault or (b) only something he could address.
Let’s say for the sake of argument that man-made global warming is real. Wouldn’t it make sense to have these Caribbean “leaders” also ask massive polluters like India and China to start doing their part?
Utter Stupidity has become a pandemic.
