Scientists have been able to use this kind of modeling for more than a decade, but improved technology now allows them to do it nearly in real time, letting people understand the links between what they are seeing and climate change...GIGO....

Here in Philadelphia I continue my collection and observation of data on daily Philly high temperatures as given occasionally by the local channel 3 weather reader - I continue to wonder how people can make such assertive statements about "global temperature trends" when the weather varies so widely across the earth, and to question just exactly what statistics are used to determine "global warming" - I note, for example, that locally, of the figures collected so far, the greatest aberration in high temperature from the daily average was a jump of 29 degrees, from the daily average of 61 to the high of 90 which took place on April 9 - 1929 - and the highest temperature recorded was 104, up from the daily average of 87, set on July 10 - 1936 - figures lie and liars figure, and warmists are trying hard to master the art.....

“...this kind of modeling for more than a decade, but improved technology now allows them to do it nearly in real time...”

Outside having a smoke, Wayne the Weatherman notes that it is 92 degrees on the big thermometer hanging outside the studio.

Back in the studio a few minutes later “It’s hot out there folks, and our models indicate it will be at least 92 degrees - a new record!”

And the colder-than-normal Atlantic Ocean usually means fewer hurricane-strength storms in the eastern US in the fall, but this won’t be mentioned either. Even the WaPo acknowledges this:

I have not even used my air conditioning on more than half the days in July. What are they talking about?

It’s also called the End Times, which we are deeply, deeply in, and the Lord God is using the weather, part of His Creation, to bring The End about. The countdown has started.

I got an idea! If you believe in climate change you can donate all the money you want to the cause. If you don’t , then you don’t have to.
The problem that exists is, you want everyone to pay for it.
Same with illegal aliens, if the burden fell on your shoulders, instead of all of us, you wouldn’t be so generous.
So go out today, adopt some illegals, let them live with you, under your roof, you can feed them, buy them clothes, take care of their medical and legal bills. But that’s what you want! You want everyone to finance you scheme.
Ah, no thanks, I’ll pass

So they went with 300 people across the planet died from heat... well that’s going to make an impact.

Growing up in the 70’s a lot of households had maybe one window unit. The city papers always weeks of stories of people dying from heat which never created any sort of pandemonium.

WTF plan did they have that was ruined!? I want to see it.

They had no plan, other than "tax the crap out of Americans", and that plan remains unchanged.

"Killer winter in the Southern Hemisphere is also shredding records."

I caught that, too.

Is CNN aware that there IS another hemisphere?

CNN isn’t aware there’s anything other than bottomless abyss and dragons between Atlanta and California.

i found this 20k year graph and analysis of co2 and temperature versus time to be interesting:

http://benedante.blogspot.com/2015/08/carbon-dioxide-and-end-of-last-ice-age.html

i was told at mendenhall glacier earlier this month that what demonstrates conclusively that anthropogenic global warming exists is the current rate of temperature rise (presumably in the last 100 or so years) which is in turn pegged to rise in manmade co2, causing a greenhouse effect. this is the gospel according to the National Forest Service personnel at the glacier who I spoke with.

It seems to me that the current temperature increase does not match the co2 increase.

what is the definitive climate skepticist response?

“Remarkably, scientists can now work out in just a matter of days how much human-induced climate change has had to do with a particular weather event, using a combination of observation, historical data and current information from weather stations.”

Total unadulterated horses**t, and this reporter just writes this without legitimate vetting, research, or discussion. Hanson should be a greater at Walmart, as he is most certainly not a creative and trustworthy scientist. Science and hyperbole are incompatible.
