There’s only one God. He’s my God by acceptance, and can be yours by acceptance too, but it’s your option. The alternative is to go chasing your tail at Satan’s bidding, an example of which we are seeing right here. Sorry to be so blunt and frank, but there is sometimes no other way to put it.
I used to have faith like that. It was good. Just can’t find it anymore, so I’m told that I never really had it.
I have passed through seasons like that too.
Here’s what really happens. One is mobbed by a myriad of little devils, whispering various things. One is weak, so the devils get some of their way. But God keeps them from getting all of their way, and bit by bit one grows and at a certain point, one realizes that one is stronger than the devils. The story parallels several in the bible, perhaps most starkly Job’s.
I’ve got the awkward gift. The mind of Christ put on resolutely in the midst of an absolute siege of strong devils. Only one of God and the devil could win, and I couldn’t bear getting dragged down to regions of hell, so with Christ I went. I can’t brag on me. I’ve been an utter goofus, including backslidings into some of my worst sins.
Now we have sexual "reassignment" surgery, euphemistically called "confirmation surgery." Eventually "pioneers" in medicine get around to doing it on kids, as they did with lobotomies. Hopefully within a couple decades it will go the way of the lobotomy.
