Lodi Teen Kicked Out Of Class Over NRA Shirt (which didn't violate dress code)

LODI (CBS13) — An angry mother is speaking out after she says a Lodi High School history teacher targeted students wearing T-shirts advertising the National Rifle Association.

“She was basically being attacked in class,” said mother Charlene Craig.

Two sophomores were wearing the NRA shirts when they say they were singled out in class by their teacher, who started schooling them on why guns are bad.

**SNIP**

“He basically yelled at her, telling her that she would be writing an essay if she disagreed with him.”

As a former teacher, not only are many teachers self-pious, most are not really that bright.

If they could have passed the major classes they would be in industry.

El-Ed teachers are mostly laughable (but easy).

That is a very powerful tactic. I used it to great effect in school myself.

I was supposed to participate in a mandatory live animal experiment in school where we directly measured an anesthetized animal’s blood pressure & heart rate etc while administering drugs. The animals were discarded after the experiment.

I went to discus my participation with the professors, who weren’t budging, until I said that I would do the experiment if they would film it and offer the film as a choice for students who objected to sacrificing an animal.

They said, “No way! We used to do 5 animal labs and now we are down to one”. But I was excused from that lab.

People who are able to push the indefensible because of power structures don’t want anyone learning the facts or having another choice. Sunlight is their enemy.

Lodi is where I first got tipsy.

It was at a wedding.

Some older lady hit on me mildly.

I went back to my room and crashed and only later did I realize I totally could have at least copped a feel, which sort of was my template for life as a young man.

I think of this every time I read a Lodi story

Lodi is now overrun by Mexicans, BTW and is becoming a 3rd world hell hole.

When my daughter was a Junior in HS, she came home one night and just ripped the family about global warming, our carbon footprint, our wasteful food practices, our use of energy and on and on. I asked where she had gotten her information and she said that it was from her history teacher (?).

The next day was a Friday and she was running late as usual. She came to me said, “We gotta go, I have to go to school.” I told her that I had been thinking about what she had said the previous evening and told her that I was going to work from home that day in an effort to reduce our carbon footprint. She said, “But Dad, I have a Bio test today, we have to go.” I told her that saving the planet was more important than her Bio test. She was livid, and called some friends to see if she could get a ride. No luck. She stayed home that Friday.

I suggested she spend the weekend doing some research on global warming and energy use and see if what her teacher seemed right. She did and spent two days writing a paper for her history teacher that debunked human caused global warming. It was not an assignment but she gave it to the teacher anyway. It came back with a note at the top that said “I'll have to think about this.”

I seem to remember that she was able to take her Bio test on Monday, but the perspective and discernment she gained was more valuable than anything.

“...suspend the teacher!...”

Agreed; this teacher must, at least, make an apology in class, in the same environment in shich the student was bullied.

An example, if you will.

Student needs to sue the teacher individually, school should not have to pay cost of judgement or defense, take it out of teacher’s pocket.

“He basically yelled at her, telling her that she would be writing an essay if she disagreed with him.”

That's good psy-ops, whether the teacher knows it or not: "Expressing your opinion is a form of punishment."
