California wildfires are single handedly heating and polluting the whole west coast. Funny no one talks of the huge amount of pollution these fire are producing.
Here’s a hypothesis: these wildfires, rich in particulate air pollutants, will cause swings in ground temperatures to moderate as the particles in the air filter the sunlight.
I heard an amazing stat just last night, that the huge Santa Rosa fire last year cranked out as much pollution via smoke each day as all the vehicles in California produce in 10 years. I believe it/ I’m over 100 mile from the nearest fire and the amount of smoke in the air these last couple weeks has just been incredible. And trees and grass don’t have catalytic converters.
