Thanks for your reply. I do not think that Peterson would entertain any metaphysical discussion that did not directly bear on the individuals he is trying to help and their very real problems. He is tackling the notions that young people have related to him, they having been influenced by the formal education establishment culture.

You have been reading Aquinas, etc. on your own time to find answer to your own questions. Your point about moderate realism, please correct me, would be interesting in direct debate with a post modernist teacher or writer, but how would it help a college student attending one of these lectures?

(Thanks for any of your insights and yours is the last word after this.)

Appreciate your thoughts. I am not one who needs to have last word, but would accept your decision.

To cut to chase, why would a person who has reflexively bought into the PC culture, relativism subjectivism, existentialism and skepticism need the knowledge of moderate realism?

Because, in my experience, they are floundering for meaning and purpose and understanding even when they are not aware of it.

The do not need a deep analysis of Moderate Realism, but just the awareness which Peterson talks about that some perceptions just work better than others..

Nobody has time to live and experience ever thing that works.

So just an explanation that , yes perceptions are not infallible, but some perceptions, taught as conventional wisdom of Western thought have worked. They are as objectively true and most capable of being reasoned from than all other perceptions currently out there competing. Putting the correct name on that approach of Moderate Realism would at least plant seeds of order instead of the social chaos now exploding. But it up to people like Jordan Peterson to do this. Typing one finger on phone with rotten eyesight not best, but here is.
