A San Francisco Bay Area police chief said his family is "shaken to the core" after his son was arrested in the beating of a 71-year-old Sikh man.
Tyrone McAllister, 18, and a 16-year-old boy could face charges including attempted robbery, elder abuse and assault following Monday's attack in the city of Manteca. Police say they are investigating the attack as a robbery, not a hate crime, The Modesto Bee newspaper reported.
McAllister is the son of Union City Police Chief Darryl McAllister, who wrote Wednesday on Facebook that "words can barely describe how embarrassed, dejected, and hurt my wife, daughters, and I feel right now."

After reading most of the replys I have to contribute. I grew up in a small town, I think back and try to remember the wildest kids in school. Most of them was either the cops or the preachers kids. And we all know about those Catholic girls from their school. Just sayin.

Manteca is the town I am from. At my time in High School (1950) the population was 3,500, strictly rural. Now it is over 80,000 and a bedroom town for the Bay Area...which is a disease.

Not at all. Read the article. The ‘kid’ has been having emotional and criminal problems for years.
There is significant Federal and California law that punishes the allowing a firearm to be accessed by a minor and/or a person prohibited by any law or adjudication.
The Chief may be significantly at risk because his son has a two year record of delinquency, he is a prohibited person.
If he had an issue firearm, a BIG coverup is necessary, if private, a smaller coverup is all that is required.
