There’s a simple solution. They can build any Island they please, but we never recognize them as territory. If we drill an oil platform the surrounding 12 miles do not become US territorial Waters. Essentially they’re building fixed aircraft carriers. Everywhere one of our carriers goes doesn’t become us water. Why can’t one of our leaders articulate this simple concept?

Given enough anchored floating platforms I suppose at some point they could claim the Pacific as their territory.
