Few events determine the future and define the participants more than the siege of Kobane in Sept 2014 on the Turkish/ Syria border did. With the Turks and the world watched with binoculars while ISIS sent in wave after wave to slaughter everyone, Turkey smiled. Turkey did nothing as the end approached. The US military literarily demanded they be allowed to give air support-Obama finally agreed. The subsequent defeat of ISIS at Kobane by the bravest of the brave will no doubt go down as a turning points in Kurdish history. Th American military saw a potential ally for the entire ISIS elimination mission and also a useless group of people so blinded by hatred as to be useless as an ally. It’s pay back and it will not be pleasant. Never forget Kobane in dealing with Turkey, it was their defining moment as well.
