Actually it was more than just Gandhi, because if there was one person in India who wanted to get along with everyone, was him. It had lot more to do with Muslims not wanting to live under Hindu majority, even though India’s constitution established a secular country with no official national religion. Pakistan of course has Islam as the official religion of the country.
