I’ve seen no evidence that belief in God has anything to do with it.

You would not normally think so, but there may be more connection than you realize. Guilt was placed in the human psyche after the first bite of the apple. When we sin we are well aware of it (undeniable). The sin-loaded conscience cries out for forgiveness, and only God can give the forgiveness so desperately needed. So, you will find some of the most dedicated "church" attenders among the gay population. They believe that their devotion to their "religion" and works will get them a ticket to heaven. Not realizing that it won't. "Not by works, saith the lord." There is that thing called repentance and acceptance of Jesus Christ as Lord of your life. Grace.

.
As I read the title, I knew it had to be either Massachusetts, or California.

“Well yes, you will not feed me agnosticism. “

Are you sure I can’t talk you into it?

(Just kidding :-)

I respect your belief in god, and although I don’t share it, I do believe the world is a better place because of people like you.

“only God can give the forgiveness so desperately needed. “

I respect your belief in god.

As far as I’m concerned, the important questions, such as How did we get here? Why are we here? What happens after we die? - these questions must remain a mystery, because scientists can hypothesize all they want but there will never be proof. Likewise, religion can claim knowledge but their beliefs can’t be proven either.

Neither science nor religion can answer these questions - they can only say what they BELIEVE to be true.

I am so glad we have people like you, to counter the scientists’ arrogance and remind them that they really don’t know the answers. In the same way, I’m glad we have the scientists, to keep the religious people in check.

It’s a good balance with each side reminding the other that their beliefs are just that - beliefs.

“Why in the world would legislators want to take that authority out of the hands of their constituents and give it to bureaucrats at the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education who think 12-year-olds should act like porn stars?” he wrote.

Beats me...

Never found science contra to faith myself. Not if you take science seriously. Most use theories as an excuse to deny God though. But science is not theories.

Agnosticism is just a lack of observation IMHO. One has to actually look to find things.

However there is a spiritual principle that directly leads to immorality. If one rejects the creator to fawn over creation the creator may to wash his hands of the relationship. This results in a man being delivered over to his lusts leading to homosexuality and other forms of perversion.

Sad situation that, irreversible. Rejecting God is reversible, God rejecting you is not.

“Agnosticism is just a lack of observation IMHO. “

IMHO means “In my humble opinion”.

Are you humbly expressing your opinions here? It doesn’t sound like it. Missing are words such as “I think...” and “I believe...”.

If you just make statements as if they are provable facts, it does’t sound that humble.

Have you ever checked the percentage of people who were not religous who were known sex offenders with the percentage of known sex offender who were “religious”?

The religious category would necessarily include Catholic clergy, would it not?

THOSE WHO YOU TRUST THE MOST ARE THE MOST EVIL. (1746)
