The Rev. Gregory Livingston, of New Hope Baptist Church, said Mayor Rahm Emanuel (D) has "blood on his hands," and is allegedly "sitting on" millions of dollars in Department of Housing and Urban Development funds that could be helping the affected neighborhoods.
"Rahm's words do nothing for that family," Livingston said of a mother of a 17-year-old shot and killed over the weekend amid the violence.

The problem is that cops across the country have retired in place due to being angry about the valid criticism about their lack of training and the blowback from them killing unarmed people.
In some ways, he is FAR BETTER than Rush. He brings a battleaxe to his opponents and to liberalism.
Nothing against Rush. He's a legend, and he has his niche. But IMO Wilkow's show is much, much better.
I would listen to Wilkow at the mines but the office walls are paper thin.
Too many moderates and liberals.

Sending the National Guard would be an attempt at a short term fix to get past the next election.
President Trump is working on a long term fix.

My thoughts exactly. I remember this movie:
The Siege a 1998 American film about a fictional situation in which terrorist cells have made several attacks in New York City. The film stars Denzel Washington, Annette Bening, Tony Shalhoub, and Bruce Willis. They called in the National Guard and regretted it.
Chicago owns this mess, make them fix it.
The only way for Trump to commit the NG to Illinois would be for him to federalize it. Once that is done, then it is a component of the US Army. The Posse Comitatus Act forbids units of the Army and Air Force from enforcing civil law.
For Trump to commit troops under the authority of Article IV, Section 4, (which deals with protecting the states from invasion and domestic violence) an application of the state legislature or executive for such aid must be received first, or if the local government has entirely ceased to function.
Unfortunately, the sheer incompetence and ineffectiveness by progressive Democrat governments is not sufficient for unilateral action by Trump.
Another point: Eisenhower sent federal troops into Little Rock to enforce a FEDERAL court order. Murder is purely a state and local matter. Just unleash the Chicago cops. They know who the players are, and are fully capable of quelling MOST of this violence. The racial industrial complex and PC are preventing that at the moment.
