So, if you say something nice to me, there is the possibility of it warming the cockles of my ear?
Just a little more thought on my part would have got me to that point...but I went out of my way to UN-learn as much Latin as I could.
Hate that "language"...however, my son became very fluent in it during college.
A safe bet that he's forgotten as much as I have.
But, and I'm not being obtuse, it's actually cochlea, usually pronounced by well-meaning autodidacts as "cockle".
