Trump threatens to 'get involved' in watchdog group's efforts to obtain McCabe text messages
The Hill ^ | 08/11/18 | Avery Anapol

President Trump on Saturday criticized the FBI for not turning over former FBI deputy director Andrew McCabe’s text messages to right-leaning watchdog group Judicial Watch.

The group is pursuing the texts through Freedom of Information Act requests to the Justice Department, seeking communications and text messages from a number of current and former FBI officials.

The president threatened in a misspelled tweet to “get involved” in the effort, and warned the FBI not to “destroy” the items.

“FBI said they won’t give up even one (I may have to get involved, DO NOT DESTROY). What are they hiding? McCabe wife took big campaign dollars from Hillary people," he continued.

"Why isn’t the FBI giving Andrew McCabe text massages to Judicial Watch or appropriate governmental authorities. FBI said they won’t give up even one (I may have to get involved, DO NOT DESTROY). What are they hiding? McCabe wife took big campaign dollars from Hillary people..... — Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) August 11, 2018

"Will the FBI ever recover it’s once stellar reputation, so badly damaged by Comey, McCabe, Peter S and his lover, the lovely Lisa Page, and other top officials now dismissed or fired? So many of the great men and women of the FBI have been hurt by these clowns and losers! — Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) August 11, 2018

The tweet also referenced former FBI Director James Comey, and FBI agents Peter Strzok and Lisa Page, who exchanged anti-Trump text messages that the president has repeatedly cited as evidence of bias in the agency.

McCabe is referenced in Strzok and Page's communication as "Andy," which has conservatives anxious to see what McCabe may have said in his own texts to colleagues.

Trump has repeatedly criticized the FBI over the probe - which McCabe, Strzok and Page worked on - into Russian election meddling and possible collusion, which he often refers to as a “witch hunt." Along with other GOP lawmakers, he has accused the agency of political bias in its handling of a number of investigations. Strzok and Page are seen as evidence of that bias.

Judicial Watch has been seeking McCabe's messages for months, and ramped up the effort after he was fired in March. The watchdog organization is particularly interested in his communication with Comey.

A judge on Monday ordered the Justice Department to preserve any emails located on Comey's email account in response to the group's most recent FOIA request.

Attorney General Jeff Sessions fired McCabe earlier this year for failure to be "candid" in an investigation and leaking to the media, just days before he was set to retire from the bureau.

While understanding the uproar he would face upon intervening in these situations, one can only hope that he would bring the hammer down on these self-aggrandizing pompous ashes at DOJ/FBI and order ALL pertinent documents be immediately released in unredacted form.

Glad to see Trump hasn’t forgotten about Andrew McCabe.

But he seems to have forgotten about declassifying the FISA documents and revoking the high level security clearances of the members of the Obama administration cabal. Its past time for action on these matters.

Given the seriousness of the highly partisan and subversive activities of the DOJ/FBI Trump should ignore the uproar. At this point, its not about him. Its about the country and the exposure of the plot to undermine our democracy. That should be his primary concern and justification for releasing ALL pertinent documents.

Why he resists doing this is a complete mystery to me. The country needs to see and know what went on, and we need to hold those accountable for their treasonous machinations.

That is what matters at this point and it can only be done by the president. The congress is a politically driven sluggard that never gets to the bottom of anything.

The FISA docs are currently being processed for release to Congress and the public. Should see them by Labor Day...

It is my hope that the reason that President trump has not declassified these docs, is one of timing.

As a 12 year veteran of a reality TV show and a 50 year veteran of being the master in the Art of the Deal, he knows better than most, the value of impeccable timing.

As much as us hardcore pol watchers know what is going on, the vast majority of US citizens, are paying little or very little time and attention to the inner workings of a FISA court application, or mcabe's emails, or anyone named Ohr, either bruce or nellie.

When these precious gems get released, {and they can only be released once} it needs to have maximum impact on the general public.

The msm will cover up all that they can, so the release needs to be a MOAB KABOOOOOOOM, so that there can be no cover up.

I will impatiently wait and trust the judgement of President Trump.

MAGA!!!

Oh, you mean the worthless docs that are mostly redacted?

Trump needs to release ALL relevant FISA docs so the American public can see what is being hid from them (with only the highly sensitive ‘sources and methods’ blacked out).

There is NO EXCUSE for withholding evidence when it comes to exposing treason or subversion within the EXECUTIVE BRANCH. Its Trump’s duty as president to protect the nation from all enemies, foreign and DOMESTIC.

No more tweets. Time for action and time to reveal the truth.

I get where you’re coming from. I don’t mean to bust your chops, however I no longer care about political timing or political calculations. I can about what this scandal has done, and is still doing, to our country. It needs to be fully exposed for the sake of our democracy.

Sedition is not something to be played with for political gain. Its something to expose, punish, and prevent from happening again. The country needs to know the seriousness of what exactly what went on and who was involved.

Again, I don’t care about the politics of it all. There is a toxic nest of disloyal partisans infesting our most trusted government agencies that must be eradicated — without delay.

All three should have been fired a long time ago. It would have been a nice start to draining the Swamp. Just saying.

What do you think BEING PROCESSED means? They need to remove METHODS and AOURCES. Everything else needs to be released to the public.

You damn sight better learn to care about the politics and support the president’s decisions. HE knows a far sight more than you do and obviously has a plan. Haste makes Waste my father always said.Learn the value of patience and have more RESPECT for someone who is far more intelligent than you are. President Trump has shown over and over AND OVER HIS judgement is correct on an issue.

Trump’s other tweet about explains Sessions. According to Trump, he is Scared Stiff and Missing in Action.

The big story that the Fake News Media refuses to report is lowlife Christopher Steele’s many meetings with Deputy A.G. Bruce Ohr and his beautiful wife, Nelly. It was Fusion GPS that hired Steele to write the phony & discredited Dossier, paid for by Crooked Hillary & the DNC. Do you believe Nelly worked for Fusion and her husband STILL WORKS FOR THE DEPARTMENT OF “JUSTICE.” I have never seen anything so Rigged in my life. Our A.G. is scared stiff and Missing in Action. It is all starting to be revealed - not pretty. IG Report soon? Witch Hunt!

You need to calm down and think rationally about what all this is doing to our country. In case you haven’t noticed a fourth, highly politicized branch of government has emerged which is unelected, unaccountable, and unresponsive to either the congress or the public. Their stonewalling, obstruction and lying persists to this very moment. Have no illusions; these are devious and determined people.

Moreover, the fourth branch was brazen enough to lie to the FISA court, an unthinkably brazen act that should have landed them in jail. But they are arrogant, powerful and have unlimited resources at their disposal courtesy of their Deep State supporters.

Its not a question of anyone being wiser than the president. Or even about respect. The point is that it doesn’t take a genius to recognize the threat this poses to the country by failing to shut down the rogue elements in the DOJ and FBI. If there ever was a clear and present danger to our democracy and our freedoms, this is it.

And may I remind you that both of these agencies are in the executive branch of government and ostensibly work for the president. Or so we thought.

Make no mistake, there is a crisis of confidence in the chief law enforcement agencies of our government. That is something that every American should be alarmed about.

As you can tell, I haven’t mentioned politics. That’s because some things transcend politics. Like seditious activity by bureaucrats in trusted and powerful positions.

In this case, the American people need to know the truth about what went on, and have confidence that the perpetrators will be exposed and held to account so that something like this never happens again. The next time we might not be so lucky. So to me, this is a matter of putting country ahead of politics. You may disagree, but stop for a moment to consider the consequences of inaction. There is no time to waste.

Why then were Devin Nunes and Newt Gingrich both publically PLEADING with the president to declassify the FISA documents just this past week? Why on earth would they be doing this if they were confident that everything was going to be released?

They too want sources and methods removed. Sara Carter reported that Trump already has people working on doing such.

Just relax, Trump has all the cards. These petps aren’t going anywhere and the liberal talking heads are in meltdown mode because they know what’s coming, since they were part of the conspiracy.

If the sources are false and the methods corrupt, they should be exposed.
