Subaru’s get a bad wrap.
I have one and I like them, and I am as conservative as you get. (no bumper stickers)
Great resale value, and reliable as they come, economical and AWD is required where I live. (snow, lots of snow)
I have worn out several Ford Explorers and the Outback is much more reliable overall. I think they are even made in the US.
My daughter has one, and it has a bumper sticker on it; “Not a Liberal”.
FR is mostly geezers, so long outdated stereotypes persist way past any reality. Subies are great, practical cars, and most people can’t pick them out from any other vehicles.
All the same things are true of Volvos.
So do some of the most liberal people I know.
Subarus are good in the snow, we have lots of snow,
I just came from Rally Fest at Tim Oneil's rally school in Dalton, NH.
There are a lot of caged Subarus and Focuses being used to give folks a ride in rally cars.
Travis Pastrana beat his own record in a 650HP Subaru to the top of Mount Washington recently.
The winning cars at the New England Forest Rally are usually Subarus.
I doubt I'll ever own one, I prefer our Unimogs, Excursion and Focus.
