People are being paid around $20,000.00 annually for having a windmill put on their property. Some farmers have multiple windmills on their land and collect a huge sum of money each year from our very stupid Ontario government. It was an issue in the last election, as they’re costing taxpayers a fortune and not producing much energy. Such a scam. Thank the environmentalist whackos....again.

That $20 grand a year looks good but they may find they have made a bargain with the devil. In many locales here (not sure about Canada) there is no legal requirement for windmill owners to remove their worn-out windmills when the time comes. They can just walk away. Guess who gets stuck with the bill for hauling away the junk? Those landowners had better not have spent that money. They may need it for cleaning up their land.

In the early 2000s, an Australian reporter looked into the wind turbine programs in the SW US.

Many of the turbines that were getting rebates sat, in unopened crates, unused, not installed, and not generating so much as a milliwatt.

Where the turbines could be erected was out in the boonies, with no local demand for any power, not to mention a notable lack of power line infrastructure to carry any useful amount to where there was demand.

But the "owners" were still getting paid on per turbine basis.
