The Morandi Bridge has collapsed in the northern Italian city of Genoa.

The bridge, a part of the A10 motorway, is about 100 metres tall, Italian media say.

Up to 20 cars may have been involved in the incident, and 11 people are confirmed to have died.

Amazingly, one person has been rescued alive from the rubble.

Photographs from the scene show huge sections of rubble on the ground underneath the middle of the bridge.

““Has anybody seen the bridge? …where’s that confounded bridge?””

You do realize that only hardcore Zeppelin fans would get that reference?

FTFA, built in 1960.

Maybe not?

Does not match the style of the bridge at the link?

Doesn’t look like the same bridge.

I do believe you have identified yourself as such...

The Crunge is REALLY obscure in LZ history.

Somebody needs to post a photo of a Roman aqueduct, and then we can discuss whether it is the right bridge.

And BTW, that may be the absolutely weakest Led Zep song ever. Definitely the weakest song on that album.

In the UK, where this publication is based, a motorway is a freeway. By contrast, in Southern California, some dirt roads, mostly in the hills, are called motorways, a designation that probably dates from the early days of motor vehicles.

First concert I ever saw was Sha Na Na. The following week I saw Zep at MSG for the Physical Graffiti tour.

First 5-6 times I heard it I wondered why the album rock station I listened to at the time was playing a James Brown song? I was just as confused when I heard the same station playing a Four Season’s song…oh. Not 4 seasons? That’s Billy Joel singing “uptown girl”? Oh.

I’m a casual Led Zeppelin fan and I recognized the reference right away. Now here’s a similar reference for another rock act:

“It’s just the normal noises in here.”

A friend of mine in high school was a prolific LZ fan and we often listened to their albums. I mused that some of their early music sounded quite like Jazz as to their seeming lack of orchestration and composition, but really liked how Bonham’s drumming was the center piece to quite a few fantastic recordings and the rest of the band followed his lead in their jam session.

Wrong bridge. They do have more than one bridge in Italy.
