The abuse scarred every diocese. The cover up was sophisticated. The church protected the institution at all costs.

Several years ago, it was found out that a staff member of a friend’s evangelical church was molesting a couple boys. The pastor took about two minutes to catch his breath, then he called the police.
That’s how you do it.
I was raised Catholic. The priest at my high school was suddenly transferred. Years later it came out that he was a pedophile homo predator. Instead of prosecuting him, these morons transferred him to a place where he was dealing with even younger children.
The priest at my own church was one of the first people in America to die of AIDS.
Bunch of sick scum.

I know of two perv priests in my neck of the woods. One was merely moved to another unsuspecting community. Probably the same with the other.
Wait a second. 300 in PA alone? That means the nationwide the number realistically could go 10.000 or higher...

I could care less what denomination someone wants to associate, but the Catholic Church has taken significant steps to protect pedophiles in their ranks. They need a criminal prosecution.

I usually look away from this sort of news because there is more than enough horrific news to contend with.
But I was always curious how Christianity could be hated by some who would never ever stop to listen to the real message of Christ.
Now I know why.
The message these young abused boys received about Christ was that of an evil gathering of horribly creepy men in robes.
What is worse?
The sexual abuse?
Or the turning of a young child against Christ?
And one more thing, when I was young, I didn’t attend Christian services all that much but at a beach house in Delaware where my family would take long summer vacations, there was an assortment of books. One was a beautiful Catholic reader written at a level a 10-year-old could grasp the essence of scripture from Genesis to the Resurrection with beautiful illustrations.
I always thought if the Catholic Church can put together such beautiful readers and impart biblical knowledge and lessons so clearly, they must have the true spirit of Christ dwelling in their midst. And as I grew my thinking was confirmed by stories of heroic Catholic priests who risked their lives to save entire generations of people.
How then can this awful tale of abuse arise from within the Catholic Church? Where are the good priests and bishops? I am sure they exist but where are they? Why are they not speaking out?
The church and Joe Pa looked the other way.
The Catholic Church needs to do some serious house-cleaning. The problem is that the pedos have infiltrated so thoroughly and pervasively, they would rather see the Church go down in flames than solve the problem. Because, at the end of the day, access to small kids is really why these monsters became priests in the first place.
This is just sick, sick, sick. Standing on the bed was especially sickening to me.
These perverted, sick individuals have destroyed lives forever.....
