True to some extent, but I can’t recall Lutherans or Methodists having quite this problem.

Nor do I.

I get into arguments about this with my fellow Catholics, but I think the celibacy thing is actually attractive to sexually maladjusted people. Not that there’s anything wrong with being celibate, but for these pervs it gave them the perfect cover they were seeking.

Only Catholics require their nuns/ priests to be celibate. Consequently, many are gay. Why not? It's a perfect way to live a gay lifestyle with full approval and even admiration for their career choice.

When I think of all the mothers that proudly sent their sons to be alter boys, having no idea what was going on, it makes me want to vomit.

I am not Catholic and I know this happens in other churches, too, but never on this scale and never with the protection of the higher ups.

To be fair, it’s not just the Catholics.

A retired Pentecostal preacher lives in my neighborhood. I always thought he behaved oddly and seemed kind of creeepy.

My intuition was correct. A few months ago, he was convicted of sexual assault against his step grandson. I don’t know how he managed it, but he didn’t serve much time in jail.

I agree that the Catholic Church has a huge problem. But no church is immune.
