The reporter stated this happened before but didn’t say much more than that.
These days, it’s usually people with ill intent who break into a military base.
Break out? Yeah, I can think of a few who wouldn’t have minded when I was married to my first hubby in the early ‘70s ..... a Marine at Camp Lejeune. Probably a common thought in all branches then. :-)

I was avoiding a senior trip to the jungle. Ergo USN. Dad got out of Fort Campbell, next stop Fort Benning Ga. for jump school. You would think a military base would have weapons everywhere. Not so. I’d bet it was some one stationed there late for some duty obligation. Hope everyone there is safe. Being a soldier is tough enough without dodging crap in the US.
