When was the “March for Justice” back during the Clinton years???

I went to that, probably in ’98. Seems like I took my wife to that before I signed up in early ’99 . . .

Not to try to outdo you, but I started reading FreeRepublic in 1996 when you didn’t have to be registered to make comments. Not sure how long that lasted, but there were so many hit-and-run trolls trying to tear us all down, that Jim was forced to require registration for comments. Hard to imagine I didn’t register until 2001, but that’s what my profile says, so it must be true.

FreeRepublic has since been my first stop for breaking news. I, too, join you in offering many, many thanks to Jim Robinson for sticking with it through all the trials (literally) and tribulations since his first bold move in 1996 to create FreeRepublic.

I’ve learned a lot through all of my friendly (and not so friendly) conversations through the years on FR. Believe me, I’ve had some doozy knock-down-drag-out exchanges here. I’m totally addicted. Keep up the good work.

October 31, 1998 Washington, DC. I was there ...
20 years ago, about this time, I started lurking ... attended the March for Justice event and registered with FR shortly thereafter.

Yup, Mrs. AlexisHeavyMetal1981 and I were there, too, from SoCal. We got to the rally late, so we missed being in the parade of flags.

We generally walked around the whole rally, getting to meet our fellow Freepers.

The breeze was from the north, coming from the direction of the White House.

We had so much fun, getting to speak with all of our heroes, especially Ambassador Keyes. Also, we spoke at length with Matt Drudge.

We did record some of our own video with my BIL’s Hi-8 camera.

We saw ourselves on the C-Span replay sometime later. When Ambassador Keyes was speaking, the camera switched to us. There we were, me holding up California flag.

The “March For Justice” button that we bought is one of our most prized mementos.

I wanted to say it was (close to) Halloween!

And, like you, this is probably close to the 20th anniversary of when I started lurking!
Back then, Drudge Report linked to FR, which how I found the site. Before that, I was on a C-Span board - which only had a handful of posters at the time.
