It is my understanding that Security Clearances have to be renewed from time to time....like every 5 years?

How many re not renewed after a change in administration.

In fact when a govt employee changes locations and jobs they are debriefed and a clearance MAY become inactivated. There MUST be a need to know in addition to the actual content relevancy to that one persons assignment. Even if someone moves between two extremely similar jobs there is a debriefing and possible suspension of clearance albeit temporary.

Are we finally at the point of “If everything’s an outrage, then nothing is”?

Yes. Personally, I know I passed that point probably a year ago or so. I really haven't been genuinely outraged by anything since the revelations about Clinton's email server, her intentionally negligent handling of security and classified information, and the graft and pay-for-play that has come to light. The fact that she isn't serving multiple life sentences without hope of parole - or hasn't been stood up against a wall and shot for treason - is literally an outrage. Nothing else compares.

I believe the general public is well past caring about the manufactured hysteria du jour. Gay rights, Confederate statues, who met who in the campaign, locker room talk, meeting with Kim, meeting with Putin... All (and several more) were spun and covered like they were the end of western civilization unless something was done right now.

Of course what they really wanted to do right now (and continue to strive for) is to generate hate and animosity towards President Trump and his supporters, or better yet find some way to remove President Trump. Their fantasy might have been (and who knows, may still be) to find some way to remove President Trump and install Clinton, or re-install bammy in office. I'm sure they'd settle for a less powerful, less forceful establishment GOP stand-in that they could beat up and basically treat as a lame duck punching bag until 2020.

So yeah, I'm sure there's the next big thing (in terms of outrage) coming in the news cycle any day/hour/minute now. Yawn... Meanwhile I need to feed the cat, it's trash day so I've got to take the trash out, then get to work. Funny thing, in the Trump economy work is booming. I took a second job - not for the $, but because I'm making good money at my primary job and this second part-time gig popped up and is actually fun. Imagine that, an economy so good people are finding jobs so attractive they take them as a form of recreation... Now that is an outrage - to the leftists!

Can an ex-president be impeached?

Oh please no! I've been drinking to forget (or is it in celebration that Hillary will never be president....I forget) and I'm pretty sure my liver would give out if he was put back in the spotlight.

Eugene sounds like he has been hittin’ da happy smoke. You can’t impeach the president for doing his job, Eugene. That grumpy, Trump-hating old commie bastard no longer has a need for a security clearance, ***hole. Read a book sometime. It’s the only way you’ll ever become educated.

The re-investigation interval for Top Secret is now 6 years. I believe the interval for Secret is still 10 years. If you leave a position where you were required to have a clearance you (or more specifically your company or agency) can retain your clearance - for a time. The idea being it is far easier all around to maintain it if you are just changing positions and going to one that will also need a clearance. A clearance is a valuable "ticket." They take a long time to get (months) and are not cheap.

However, if you are leaving and not planning to move to another position that requires a clearance (like news/propaganda consultant) you can (and should) voluntarily surrender your clearance. One bright spot here is that I *think* that by having his clearance revoked - rather than voluntarily surrendered - it will be that much tougher for him to ever get one in the future. Any investigator looking into him next time around is going to want to know the details of why his clearance was pulled out from under him. Now that thought brings a smile to my face.

Strip the clearance from all of them who are no longer a govt employee or advisor.

No reason for any of them to have a clearance once they are out.

Obstruction of justice? Seriously? I suppose the new definition of the term is “anything the President does that I don’t like.”

Brennan’s lying to Congress, multiple times, and his engineering of a coup using foreign intelligence partners should require him to be fitted for an orange jump suit and sent to Gitmo. He will have access to foot baths, have an arrow on the floor of his cell that faces Mecca, and receive guaranteed Halal meals. He should be very happy there.

If it had been Obama who pulled Brennan’s clearance Eugene Robinson would hail that as “...a very astute move by a brilliant statesman.” <<<<

and if Obama had $hit on the floor the middle of the oval office Robinson would hail that as “...a very astute “movement” by a brilliant statesman.”

“Abuse of power “ was one of the putative offenses being lined up as an article of impeachment against Richard Nixon. The left wingers use this phrase because it harkens back to the Nixon era. Clearly, Robinson and his ilk are ignorant and deranged, but that will not stop them.

The Left have completely delegitimized themselves by calling for impeachment every freakin’ day!

You can tell who was working the swamp and the CIA by who defends them. Brennan was a big leaker using the CIA and press to steering our thought processes and our elections. The more they defend Brennan the more they were getting from him and his kind.

Does this mean when Trump steps down, we will have the anti cruzers, anti bushers, or some other anti? Always have to have opposition when cooperation is the answer. See a pattern here. The only time there is cooperation, is when the libs are in power. Then is the only time they cooperate with anybody. And they have no problem doing it then whether it’s right or wrong as they have no ability to independent thought. Brain train leaving on track 9.
