Mark Warner is a Southern Democrat.

VA is still a Southern state.

Yes, NOVA is like the Northeast, but some parts of Fairfax and Arlington is like the Ol’ South, and Warner is appealing to the ol’ school yellow dog Clinton-Obama Democrats needed to win VA.

Republicans would be smart to invest aggressively in NOVA in the fall. Campaign in VA.

Warner won in 2008 and 2014 because he appealed to NASCAR dads.

Warner will be seen as a likely 2020 Democratic candidate, but Warner is too wealthy, too centrist, too ancestrally Virginian-Eastern-Southern to win.

VA is still a Southern state. Warner is just a ol’ Southern Democrat of the 1980s and 1990s.
