Hillary Clinton was, in all but name only, the next President of the United States. The election was a tedious formality. "The Donald" would soon be back hosting a reality TV show, and the status quo would remain intact.
The members of the "intelligentsia" awoke the next day to disbelief. The unthinkable had happened.

My BIGGEST fear is over-confidence, thus no shows when it’s time to actually vote, because they have something else to do. IOW screwed priorities.
Then there are those who pay way too much attention to day time T.V., take the negative BS from the MSM seriously, and believe their guy hasn’t a chance, thus stay home defeated without trying.
My guess is that after Labor Day the Blue Wave will be in court defending their sedition, treason, and corruption.

One outcome which may happen is not much changes at all. A status quo election which both sides might not be happy with although supporters of the President might feel relief that there won’t be any impeachment movement.
Very smart of you. Just as the progs were excited about the blue wave, too many here are proclaiming a red wave. The only waves happen in favor of the party out of power in the White House. The best I think the GOO can hope for are results similar to 82 and 2002. Better than that is asking too much given the history of midterms and the endless anti Trump drumbeat ofbthe media addedto the enthusiasm of the socialists.
Do any of you remember what the polling was like in 2006? I remember hearing about a blue wave all year and was in constant denial until Election Day. How does 2018 stack up against 2006? Iraq was the blue motivater, today it’s Trump. Is that enough? Are we whistling past the grave yard? I suspect the real answer is “wait and see.”

There are WAY TO MANY posts on FR that are over confident about the Repubs chances this fall.
The neo-Marxists are are chomping at the bit to vote and that is very dangerous.
Over-confidence is now the biggest enemy for the Repubs.
I too will wait till after the votes are counted and hope the Repubs hold both Houses, before any celebrating.
