Likely he didn’t have any legal ID to begin with. Any guy has a wallet on him at all times and that wallet contains legal ID of some sort e.g. a California driver license.

Her excuse was that he was in a rush to get to the hospital so he left behind his identification, whatever it was. Yet I guess one of them had money for the gas. But this was not a woman travailing in labor. It was a scheduled c-section which is typically scheduled days, even weeks in advance, specifically to precede the due date so it doesn’t happen during labor. So, what was the rush?
