Victor Davis Hanson, as he so often does, gives us an excellent and concise birds-eye view of where we stand with the intelligence community:
[T]hose who are warning of Russian collusion efforts to warp an election now work for agencies that in the recent past were doing precisely what they now rightly accuse the Russians of doing. The damage that Brennan, Clapper, Comey, and others have done to the reputations of the agencies they ran will live on well after their tenures are over.
For once, I think he underestimates the duration and intensity of the rottenness. It isnt just Brennan, Clapper and Comey. It isnt just the Obama years. Its an integral part of the ICs DNA. Dont forget that Alexis de Tocqueville proclaimed that foreign policy was a perennial weakness of democracies, in no small part because democracies have real trouble keeping secrets.
The IC has performed poorly for decades. In the early 1980s, when Bill Casey was the last outstanding director of central intelligence, he was approached by the heroic Russian dissident Vladimir Bukovsky with a scheme to damage the Soviets. Casey liked it a lot, and urged Bukovsky to carry it out. But he had some advice: Dont tell CIA. Theyll screw it up.

How to Fix the Intelligence Community
Gas...match.....Start over...............

The CIA, like the State Dept, is probably completely septic. They have been overthrowing and De-stabilizing since Castro took power in Cuba.
The FBI is a scratch above the level of field office chief.
It may be necessary to burn to the ground and start over with qualified military and police resources.
“For some reason, many still in the current FBI, CIA, DOJ, NSC, and State Deprtment are incapable of accepting that their agencies in the Obama years were weaponized to alter a U.S. election and were directed to do so by many top dogs in their Washington hierarchies.”

The best fix is to change our rhetoric so as not to speak of a monolithic intelligence “community” at all in its upper echelons. Intelligence is necessarily political, just as criminal justice, economic policy, and social welfare policy. A communist or Muslim will not see the same piece of information in the same light as Freepers will. McCain’s intelligence community is not our intelligence community.
Fire the top 4 or 5 levels of management. Cut their budgets by 25% and make them earn their keep on merit.
Why does that picture make my blood boil?..the 3 stooges were funny...
Bingo!
I concur.
The context of that pic is totally sick.
Is that Flynn to the left of Clapper? Looks like it, and he was a 3 star.
Since Valerie Plame, I’ve suspected the IC is infested with leftists. The voting patterns in the DC suburbs seem to confirm that suspicion.
