The Body of Christ is corrupt? On earth, it is full of sinners, like any other human institution . Currently, it is the subject of an unprecedented attack by Satan.

Exactly. The attempt to ignore this is flagrant. A full 2/3 of those making allegations were post pubescent boys when they were abused. Homosexuals have literally taken over some dioscese. They trade sexual favors for position and drive anyone who challenges them out to the boonies if not out of the priesthood entirely

Evil didn’t just triumph. The church was an active co-conspirator. Why vics have never filed at least one class action against the Catholic Church is beyond me.

Defend against a total mischaracterization? Why? I reject your premise outright.

He should be fired because it happened while he was bishop. He should’ve known everything about his employees. Try that in a job you and I hold and we’d be fired so damn fast.

Has anyone accused the Pope himself of sexual abuse? He has decreed many rulings that seem to go away from traditional teachings of the Catholic Church and he also seems to try to protect abusers within the church. The fact that he is the Pope does not make him above the law, even though many might argue that it does.

I trust Josh Shapiro as far as I can throw him. I also trust gay priests/sickos & this pope as far as I can throw them. A good first start for the reform of the RCC would be to sweep out the gay, in all it’s forms.

Okay, seems there are 2 theories why a systemic problem exists ... 1) communists and those who consciously embraced the sexual revolution entered the Church to undermine it (as pointed out in Augusto Del Noce’s Crisis of Modernity and by Bella Dodd) or 2) that Vatican II encouraged the view that homosexuality is benign or even good.

But nothing in Vatican 2 documents themselves encourages the later theory. In fact in 1986, Ratzinger/CDF ascribes the “benign” theory to the games being played with the CDF’s “Declaration on Certain Questions Concerning Sexual Ethics” of December 29, 1975. (http://www.vatican.va/roman_curia/congregations/cfaith/documents/rc_con_cfaith_doc_19861001_homosexual-persons_en.html)

His analysis calls out libs (AmChurch, Germans, etc.) who wanted to play nice with PC/progressive/democrat worldly elite opinion. The worldliness theory is confirmed by Bishop Morlino’s recent letter: “In our efforts to be open to the world we have become all too willing to abandon the Way, the Truth, and the Life. In order to avoid causing offense we offer to ourselves and to others niceties and human consolation.” Source: http://www.madisoncatholicherald.org/bishopsletters/7730-letter-scandal.html.

Combine infiltration, corruption and sympathetic libs, and you’ve created a culture that tolerates priest predators instead of a culture of holiness. But fingers just can’t be pointed to libs and clergy: in the grip of the Sexual Revolution, pro-contraception laity weren’t/aren’t exactly keen on chastity and the procreative dimension of sex. Remember Abbie Hoffman? “If it feels good, do it.”

When AmChurch’s widespread coverup of Humanae Vitae and JPII’s Evangelium Vitae and Theology of the Body is over, then we’ll finally be on the Way to healing the abuse crisis ... and the vocation crisis.

I'm going to go out on a limb /s and say that the perverts and cover-up we see in PA are representative of the RCC worldwide. You can blame Satan all you want but what most people see is that an institution that has arrogantly claimed itself alone to be the 'one true church' - is corrupt from the top down. If Satan is attacking the RCC, he is doing so through those at the top, i.e., through Pope, cardinals and bishops.

A few appropriate saying for the RCC church: "A fish rots from the head down." .."The blind can't lead the blind." .."The fox is guarding the hen house."..."The chickens are coming home to roost."

A good first step would be to sweep out the gay. The RCC would be stronger for it.

No, it did not start with Vatican II. It started in the thirties when the Communists infiltrated the seminaries—and every other institution they could. See Bella Dodd’s testimony to the HUAC in the 50’s. They put about a thousand queers and other commies into the seminaries.

That led to Vatican II.

Let me state up front, I’m not a Catholic so my only concern is the abuse and not the Church itself. However, to you Catholics out there, don’t you think it’s time that priests should be allowed to have a wife? My personnel opinion is that it’s not normal for most men to be celibate for their whole life and that this type of life attracts sexual deviants. If the Church allowed priests to marry, I think this would resolve the problem. You would have a lot of men attracted to the vocation and could weed out the sexual deviants. After all, where does it say in the bible that priest/pastors/preachers can’t have a wife?

And did you read that letter from Pope Francis that was released just earlier today? Talk about saying a lot and admitting little. (frown)

When did Martin Luther nail his 95 theses? Wasn’t it 1517? The Catholic Church has been around since the first century. “Always” is hyperbole.

Anyone who has read that report can clearly see that Wuerl has been caught in some major-league fibbing.

His old friends here in Pittsburgh are highly disappointed.

Eastern Catholics allow for married men to be ordained to the priesthood. But that’s besides the point.

I think it’s way, way beyond time to enforce the rules about homosexual clergy. 90+% of these cases deal with homosexual abuse, whether it’s with teenaged boys or seminarians. Roust the homosexuals from the priesthood and you’d eliminate the vast majority of the issues.

When a tranny runs for office or a queer is elected mayor or to other political office is broadcast far and wide as a wonderful cause for celebration. When priests are caught doing exactly the same thing all male queers do, it's horrible and cause for the AG to go after them.

An interesting difference in how queers are reported on depending on the agenda of the moment. I remember when priests who were later shamed for pederasty and defrocked were champions of "new approaches to youth ministry" by papers in Boston, New York, Chicago, and Los Angles. I seriously doubt that when such reporting was in vogue back in the late sixties and early seventies those doing the reporting didn't know they are praising queers who behaved just like all other queers in spite of their being clergy.

I'm all for prosecuting priests who molest children even though the majority of it is pederasty, not pedophilia as the media call it. They stick to calling it pedophilia because they know damn well that 99% of all queers are guilty of pederasty and don't want to muddy the water with the truth about the queers in the Church.

The Bishops figure it's better to have idiots like Dolan saying, "good for him" when some queer comes out of the closet than have to admit that all queers behave the same way.

The Church needs cleaned out from top to bottom and having let this wound fester for so long has just made it worse. Bergie isn't going to do a thing, the lavender cardinals are going to fight anyone who wants to do anything, and the laity followed unfaithful Bishops and Priests like lambs to the slaughter ever since V II. Such are the consequences of the laity putting going along to get along ahead of their faith.
