This week in politics: RNC breaks another record, builds on fundraising advantage

The Republican National Committee raised $14.2 million in July -- the most it has ever raised in that month in a non-presidential year -- bringing its total haul for the cycle to $227.2 million. Despite historic odds and voter enthusiasm favoring Democrats, the RNC is finding record-setting support among its donors, according to numbers shared first with CBS News. The RNC raised more in July of this year than it did in 2010 and 2014 combined.

After transferring 8 million dollars split evenly between the National Republican Senatorial Committee (NRSC) and the National Republican Congressional Committee (NRCC) in July, the RNC started August with $41.9 million cash-on-hand and no debt.

According to its last FEC report at the end of June, the RNC had more than five times as much in the bank as the Democratic National Committee.

The RNC isn’t doing squat. People think they are giving to T.

The RNC and GOP are delighted to ride Trump's coattails... while they do NOTHING in Congress to help, or to keep any of THEIR campaign promises. How many were elected on ObamaCare Repeal promises? And when was the last time anyone in the RNC or Congress brought up the effort? Trump has made the only substantive change thus far, dropping the individual mandate. Congress has done NOTHING.

I listen to spotify all day long at work and every 15 minutes I hear an advert against Josh Hawley here in MO. I dont think its the DNC with the ad buy but I haven’t heard boo from the Republican side.

It may mean nothing, but felt it was worth sharing.

Interesting analysis, considering the current RNC leadership was appointed by Trump - the incumbent President appoints the leadership of the national committee.

Year in, year out, the RNC never changes. It's the last station on the way down. Next stop, CNN.

Haley Barbour, Jim Gilmore, Michael Steele, Reince Pribus, Ed Gillespie—the list goes on and on. The losers hall of shame.

From the article, my addition (I'm so bold :) in red:

...the RNC is finding record-setting support among its donors, many of whom used to be Democrats...

Trump has made the only substantive change thus far, dropping the individual mandate. Congress has done NOTHING.

They passed it so he could sign that repeal into law. That was not an executive action. They attached that repeal to the tax reform bill. The repeal of the individual mandate was more than "NOTHING", as was the entire tax reform bill itself.

The RNC and GOP are delighted to ride Trump's coattails... while they do NOTHING in Congress to help, or to keep any of THEIR campaign promises.

The current RNC leadership was appointed by President Trump.

Reince Priebus really turned things around and was highly successful in the position. Your comments again simply are not accurate.

LOL. Anyone who thinks the RNC is worth more than a bucket of warm spit is seriously deluded.

The RNC isn't fooling anyone trying to hitch a ride on President Trump's coattails. The RNC actively tried to undermine President Trump for the nomination.

And look at the RNC's sorry record over the years. What a weak sister the RNC turned out to be in 2008 and 2012. Oh and let's not forget the Bush Family and all that wrought. RNC swamp creatures and creations all. RNC has historically been Deep State, open borders. There's no denying those facts.

The RNC gave us the Paul Ryans, John McCains, Jeff Flakes, Bob Corkers, Lamar Alexanders, Jeb Bushes. When was the RNC ever MAGA, ever for strong borders? I've given the RNC my money over the years with nothing to show for it other than empty promises. If the RNC wants money let them pass the hat at Bilderberg or Bohemian Grove.

I’m curious if the RNC runs any ads out west. I don’t ever remember seeing one.
