It is difficult to obain visas to leave, at all. It is illegal to leave with significant assets.
People are finding ways to do it. As they do, the government becomes aware of those ways and works to shut those "loopholes".
One way was to purchase a substantial oceangoing vessel. Then sail it to another country, and sell it there.
I recently heard of a South African family that sailed a 30 foot boat to South America from South Africa.
That is a small boat to make a transatlantic voyage.

This will lead to racial war and genocide. How this is currently being ignored is both surreal and sick, since no one so far is even objecting to these state sanctioned crimes. Apartheid was terrible, but racial war and cleansing in response, long after majority rule and the supposed reforms of Mandela, is accepted if not cheered?
I wonder if the MSM will even report on the ongoing human rights abuses and murder of innocents? Why should they? My friends from S.A. were supposed to come visit me this week for 2 weeks... the US denied their tourist visa.
I was told obtaining visa to leave was difficult, but they may have been talking about leaving with assets.
The rules to transfer assets out of South Africa appear complex.
South Africans are not allowed to leave with more than 25,000 rand ($1,722) or 160,000 with prior special arrangements ($11,020)
That seems to be pretty tight controls.
