I hate his guts but I wont criticize a man for breaking under the torture that those communist bastards put any of them through.
What he did years later as the Manchurian Senator is inexcusable.
I feel much the same way, I leave it to his fellow POW’s to judge him on that...they know what he went through and I don’t.
But, like you, I despise him as a politician.
Because I know myself would break under torture, I would never take a mission where capture by the enemy is a likely outcome. Only a person with an iron constitution should take such missions.
“I hate his guts but I wont criticize a man for breaking under the torture that those communist bastards put any of them through.”
I’ll second that. Everyone has a breaking point and it doesn’t take very long.
Sen. Jerimiah Denton, of blessed memory, when interviewed not only didn’t break, but blinked out the words torture in Morse code. I had the privilege of talking to the great admmiral and true war hero on talk radio once.
The stinking Commie Cong and the NVA in the north beat our prisoners unmerciful. They beat them with cane sticks to the point there was barely meat left on their backs. If you people have never been in a POW’s shoes (regardless of what you think about someone, even McScream whom I detest) shut up!! Unless you have suffered as they do, don’t even begin to THINK you know what they went through or tell me how YOU would have handled it. Just shut up. The Reds were great at propaganda. They could have made anyone look like he squealed for special treatment. Good grief.
yes anyone tortured as a prisoner of war can not be blamed if the torture breaks him...I myself am sure that if taken prisoner I would break. I think that it is a rare individual that can hold out for any meaningful amount of time under torture. I will judge NO Name by his actions since returning from war and becoming a politician. As far as I am concerned No name should of left politics years ago when he got caught up in the savings and loan scandal.
