Ex-Dem IT aide Imran Awan avoids jail time after attorneys complain about Trump

Imran Awan, the former IT aide to congressional Democrats whose federal bank fraud case has drawn the interest of top Republicans, avoided jail time Tuesday after the defense complained about disparaging comments made against the defendant by President Trump and others.

During a hearing Tuesday in Washington, U.S. District Judge Tanya S. Chutkan sentenced Awan to three months of supervised release plus time served. Chutkan, who cited “unfounded allegations” against Awan, also did not impose a fine.

Awan, who pleaded guilty in July to making a false statement on a loan application, delivered an emotional statement vowing: “I promise you this second chance will not go to waste.”

The prosecution, in a recent sentencing memorandum, did not advocate jail time for Awan.

Federal guidelines recommended a sentence of zero to six months in jail, followed by two to five years of supervised release. Prosecutors said they did not oppose a noncustodial sentence.

The case had generated great interest from conservatives, who suggested Awan could have been involved in a cyber breach operation. Awan, who was arrested last summer at Dulles International Airport before trying to board a flight to Pakistan, worked as a technology employee to top Democrats, including Florida Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz.

But prosecutors said during July’s plea hearing that they investigated allegations of misconduct by Awan while on the job in Congress and said they "uncovered no evidence" that Awan "violated federal law with respect to the House computer systems."

The judge is a disgrace. I suspect also that Dems have helped hide evidence.

Trump should have made disparaging comments about Manafort and Cohen. Then they both could have walked free.

In any case what we have here is a Huge coverup. This is about as big a fail as you can get. Anyone who has been paying attention knows this guy was stealing info and either giving or selling it to Iran. And that is just for starters. I believe that Government officials want to cover that all up.

You and your justice Department failed big on this one Mr Trump.

Let’s see:

-Breached servers of
37 Congresspeople
-Directed sensitive
intel to Pakistani
military and spy agencies
-developed giant operation
to ship enormous amounts of
cash to various Al Queda ops
in Africa in used cars
-stole $130K or so computer
hardware and cel phones
-obtained no-show jobs for 2 or 3
family members at salary comparable
or equivalent to a US Senator

versus

-were verbally and hurfully
assailed by POTUS with the
accompanying hurt feelings.

Yep, I can see it.

Maybe he’ll be the victim of a botched robbery, à la Seth Rich. Nothing stolen, but shot in the back.

Yet another Liberal skates. Not surprising. Only Republicans are held to accountability.

Remember, he had THREE Clinton lawyers, meaning the Clinton Crime Machine was in full swing. We don’t know how many blackmails and bribes occurred but there must have been plenty considering all the crime Imram Awan did. Anybody else would have gotten 20 to life.

Another possibility is that a deal was made. Each side agrees to not charge someone of a crime on one side as long as someone on the other side gets to walk free. There are so many possibilities when you are dealing with the level of corruption in the US today.

“Yet another Liberal skates.”

If there is one thing the past two years has made abundantly clear, it’s that the entire legal system in America is under the complete and total control of the Deep State Left.

Now, we do have the military and most of the law enforcement rank and file with us...so if it comes a to a shooting war with the Deep State, we’re good as gold.

But as long as the battlefield is within our legal and judicial systems...well, we’re dead meat.

This makes me so damned mad I am seeing red.

Unbelievable. Shameful. And no accountability for the people who enabled this.

I cannot say what I am thinking right now.

The greatest danger to our great nation is our corrupt judiciary which is totally politicized on any issue political. This politicization is a result of judicial appointments by progressive liberals. These judges are political activists. They are a clear and present danger.

If the judiciary were not corrupt all this crap about Russian Collusion would not be happening.

Our FISA Court of unnamed judges honored fraudulent warrants on Donald Trump and associates. Perhaps at the time they did not know they were fraudulent. They sure as hell know today they were. These judges have the legal authority to rain down hell on those that presented the fraudulent warrants. They could stop this whole damn thing if they desired. The only logical conclusion is these unnamed FISA judges are corrupt political hacks.

This is the court of “The Star Chamber” The FISA court should be disbanded. Although they do some good, their ability to do bad is far greater, and they have done much bad. Disband them!

My fear of terrorists is far less than that of a corrupt judiciary.

This is a disgrace but, even more, scary. So, if you’re ‘connected’ (DWS,Dems) you skate but anyone associated with Republicans pays a big price. God help America.

Agree....activist judges, leftist professors, who indoctrinate vs educate, along with liberal, progressive self-serving politicians are working hard to ‘change’ America. Some think America is not a good country, yet they continue to live here!
