A modest proposal: How about legislature of North Carolina suspend all state appropriations to the university (over $400M/year, I think) until the:
* The President of the Unviersity and the chief of the university police are fired.
* The university restores the statue to its original state
* The university identifies all participants in this act of vandalishm, expels or fires them, and prosecutes them to the full extent of the law.
I would have fired the President and police chief last night had I been the Governor but he is a democrat sympathizing with the vandals and thugs.
