During the Primaries, my fears were that he would shoot off his big mouth and act less than Presidentially dignified (he has)... that he would not get 50% of the vote (he didn't)... that we might start electing celebrities and the wealthy to the office (remains to be seen, but seems unlikely, given the Left's reaction to THIS rich celebrity)... and that his lack of a track record meant that we couldn't know how he would really direct the nation (which was true)...
I was 3-for-3, with #4 pending... and could not have ever guessed, in a million tries, that he would turn out to be a better Limited Government, and pro-American, President than virtually any other in the last 100 years. I was so right, and yet so wrong... and am so overjoyed that he won.
We could see how well he dealt with the NYC media, so his superb defiance of the DC and national media was also predictable... we just couldn't have foreseen how insane THEY would become, daily, for 2 years and running so far. THAT has been almost as big of a surprise as his Conservatism.
The last four, GHW Bush put in place the bipartisan policy of non-enforcement of laws and borders with the intent of changing the USA into a Spanish speaking hispanic country.
Both personalities changed soooo much for the Primaries, I simply have to believe that they unwisely took the advice of some idiot campaign "experts" about the necessity of being "hardcore, down and dirty" during the Primary race ("because everyone else does it!"). Nothing else makes sense. Neither had ever behaved that way before... or since. I was shocked and saddened. I still supported Ted Cruz for the nomination, because his resume was (and is) stellar... but it was with increasing reservations as the Primaries continued.
Hindsight being 20-20, I'm beyond glad that Trump won... but I'm also shocked at the venom spewed daily on FR at the best Limited Government Conservative in all of Congress.
Not much of a Constitutionalist when he ran for President while Canadian.

I have silenced some of my left-leaning friends by telling them to look up the legal fight Trump got into trying to integrate Mar-a-lago to allow Jews and Blacks (a case Trump won). Then I tell them to look up the many awards he has received from civil rights groups.
I also tell them about the homeless black woman who lives at Trump Tower and has meals delivered all for free. Some racist! Trump sees people not race, bless him.
