Michael Cohen, who was snatched out of obscurity and made famous and wealthy by Donald Trump, pled guilty to five counts of tax evasion and bank fraud and two counts of making excessive campaign contributions. Within the language describing the campaign law violations was the following:
in coordination and at the direction of a candidate for public office.
While Donald Trump was not named, there was little doubt that the reference was to the payments made by Michael Cohen to Stormy Daniels and Karen McDougall on Trumps behalf.
Within a matter of minutes, the always vigilant mainstream media began immediately calling Trump a criminal and beating the drums for impeachment. The justification: if Cohen was guilty of breaking the law so, therefore, was Donald Trump. Brett Stephens, the resident conservative at the New York Times tweeted:
Ive been skeptical about the wisdom and merit of impeachment. Cohens guilty plea changes all that. The president is clearly guilty of high crimes and misdemeanors. He should resign his office or be impeached and removed from office.

From the article:
This entire sorry spectacle is no more than another feeble attempt to overturn an election wherein the chosen one Hillary Clinton inexplicably lost.
After 16 months Robert Mueller and his unfettered and unrestrained army of prosecutors are no closer to achieving this ultimate objective, so Michael Cohen, thanks to his foibles, stupidity and greed, was the pawn in the latest gambit.
The actual plea deal - cut though to the primary source.
1-5 are evasion of assessment of income tax liability
6 is false statements to a bank
7 is causing an unlawful corporate contribution (listing a bunch of allegations and actually using the word allegations)
8 is excessive campaign contribution (listing a bunch of allegations and actually using the word allegations)
Davis is spouting opinionated crap for gullible Trump haters and they are lapping it up.

Why has Hillary not be been charged?
Good article. I agree with the entire premise. I just think Trump has waited too long. Not one single person has been arrested(of the DS). Everyone on Team HRC has been given Immunity despite there was no bigger fish charged??? All of BHO’s gang are raking in $Millions. Meuller doesn’t seem to care that millions of voters know he is letting all the Dems off the hook without so much as an “I;ll look into it”. When does the Storm commence?
So, let me get this straight, the lawyer for Clinton Inc. represents Michael Cohen without payment, and negotiates a plea statement that is exactly what the left has been trying to fabricate for more than two years?
Might be time to think about an ethics complaint, representing Cohen without payment to create all the anti-Trump spots that Davis did yesterday sure seems to show a conflict of interest.
Totally false narrative....President Trump IS NOT IMPLICATED in any way to a crime.
FAKE NEWS ABOUT THIS IS EVERYWHERE....
Cohen is a potted plant of a lawyer.
One would think that Cohen (or maybe a friend of the court) should file a motion that Lanny Davis is a conflicted attorney because he can't represent both Hillary Clinton's interest and Michael Cohen's interest because they oppose each other. Davis should have been a vociferous defender of Cohen's rights, but to do that would go against the Clinton's interests.
Therefore, anything that Davis did on Cohen's behalf must be tossed out, and Cohen should be given council that has HIS interests first, like challenging the evidence gained from the illegal search of his property, or challenging the privileged communications between him and Trump.

The reality here is that Lanny Davis is as much a P.R. guy for himself and his PAYING clients (the Clintons) as he is for Cohen.
Cohen has never been a real lawyer. I read somewhere recently that Trump was his only client.
Exploration into the legal proceedings reveal dubious merit for any actions against President Trump in either case in the news. They are only designed to smear his reputation (like the dims haven't been doing that for a few years now) with a legally uninformed public.
The dims are betting they can win the senate in the midterm and block Kavanaugh's confirmation. Until then, they have to delay the confirmation hearings to achieve that dream.
Has everyone forgot that since time immemorial, whenever a candidate is found to have received campaign contributions from a questionable source, once it has been revealed, they simply return the funds or donate them to some charity.
Why has Hillary not be been charged?

It’s sickening.
The Perjury set-up is Cohen tapes. If Trump & has parade of clown lawyers are not aware of that, they, and he, deserve Impeachment.
This is unbelievable and the impeachment writing is all over the wall.
Now it makes sense why so many Republicans aren’t seeking reelection. They are going to vote to impeach which they know would be career suicide. It is the more preferable choice to receiving a bullet in the back of the head from the deep State monsters.
You buying this propaganda? Another useful idiot?
That's the whole problem. Trump can't do anything about that. No magic replacement for Sessions would or could either. Trying to revoke immunity deals would probably be deemed illegal.
Cohen had other lawyers, and fired them to hire Davis. I'm sure Davis's retainer letter contained a waiver of conflicts of interest.
Cohen should be given council that has HIS interests first, like challenging the evidence gained from the illegal search of his property, or challenging the privileged communications between him and Trump.
Cohen's prior lawyers already did that, and the court ruled on all of the privilege issues (finding only about 1% of what was seized from Cohen to be privileged; those documents were not handed over to the prosecution, but the rest was). But the point is that the privilege issues were fully litigated before Davis took over.
We've already heard one tape. In it Cohen says (paraphrasing) "we've got to pay off the bitch" and Trump says "ok, whatever". If that's the best tape they've got, then they've got nothing.
Immunity goes through DOJ leadership and even the IRS. SC cant give immunity on his own; no US Attorney can.
