Why didn’t they reach out to Verizon before? These fires have been going for most of the summer and this isn’t the first time summer fires have happened. Let’s call this what it is. POOR PLANNING.

This is being pushed on social media by leftists as an outcome of the end of net neutrality. Of course, it has absolutely nothing in the slightest to do with net neutrality.

I'm not sure if leftists are calculating or brain damaged.

Not at the speeds they’d normally get from LTE.

I've not been very active in ham radio since relocating to the Pocatello area. The total solar eclipse last year passed right over my area of Idaho. Days later, the Soda Springs area had a 5.3 earthquake. Over 300 aftershocks in subsequent weeks. Those in the 4.5+ range rattled my house significantly. That was enough to prompt me to upgrade my 1976 vintage gear. I have some new gear that handles 2 meters and 70cm (450 MHz) with high power (50 watts) and DMR capability. A new vertical antenna on the house (2m/70cm) that is rated to 140 MPH wind. I'm prepared again for emergency services in base/mobile/portable. I purchased rigs for my wife as well. She can do double duty as police/fire/EMS + amateur for our city. We have been plagued with heavy smoke from the west coast/northwest fires all Summer.

My wife made a visit to the local fire department with her sysadmin manuals in hand. She will be integrating a new application to link the police Spillman dispatch software to the fire department to provide integrated dispatch capability. The fire department has to pony up $8,000 to Spillman to license the software.

You don’t know what you’re talking about. Your understanding of internet technologies is clearly limited.

The funny thing about NN, the big cats cats, Apple, google, FB, they made sure they would not be part of the FCC rules when NN passed under NoBama..

I am curious how Tim Wu feels about the recent discoveries of overreach the big data companies performed under the NN rules which he claimed would happen without NN
