In an interview today, President Trump made a very important point about his payoff to Stephanie Clifford, aka Stormy Daniels. As usual, he wasnt particularly clear, but the point comes through:
I dont know if you know but I tweeted about the payments. But they didnt come out of campaign. In fact, my first question when I heard about it was did they come out of the campaign because that could be a little dicey. They didnt come out of the campaign and thats big. Its not even a campaign violation.
This is the same observation that I made this morning on the Laura Ingraham radio show. It is illegal to use campaign funds to pay personal expenses. This frequently ensnares politicians; Jesse Jackson, Jr. went to jail for using campaign monies for personal purposes, and Duncan Hunter was charged with doing so was charged with doing so yesterday.
If Donald Trump had used campaign funds to pay Stormy Daniels (and, I believe, one other woman), and reported the expenditures as campaign expenses, he would have been chargedfairlywith using campaign moneys for personal purposes. Instead, he did the right thing; he used his own money. So now the Democrats allege that he committed a campaign finance violation because the payment was really a campaign expenditure.
Trump was damned either way, but the claim of wrongdoing would have been much stronger if he had used campaign money. Then, he would have been in the same boat with Jesse Jackson, Jr. The simple reality is that his payments to the two women didnt constitute campaign contributions because they were not contributions to his campaign.
It sounds very much like the slut was blackmailing him. Last I heard, blackmail is illegal.
In the “Progressive” world, all Trump funds ARE campaign funds. That’s the way they stretch.
10 years from now she will be poor and toothless.
Ask any cop about the motivating factor for every prostitute. They’re utterly untrustworthy, except that they will do or say absolutely anything for money.
What do you called a woman who screws a man and then demands money. Uh huh.
Right so he could even say “I took back some money” if he had to.
At least Donald Trump paid handsomely to the women he had flings with unlike Bill Clinton, who had his wife destroy them.
I got a taste of that when I reached the executive level at my company. I've learned to be careful because on more than one occasion, a woman co-worker tried to lure me into a compromising position. This was just at the VP level. I can only imagine what "C" level execs have to deal with.
OTOH, there’s Obama and the dead church guys.
.... I don’t understand all of the excitement about this .... I thought this was all settled a year or so ago and then again a few months ago. Now here it is again ..... Sheesh ...
What do you called a woman who screws a man and then demands money. Uh huh.
A wife?
You should add to that that Trump didn't sexually assault them, beat the shit out of them, and then have his wife threaten their lives.
So you’re divorced?
"I don't want them ever going after me for all my years of tax fraud."
Did President Trump admit he had a "fling" with either of these women? If so, would you be so kind as to guide me to the source?
At least Donald Trump paid handsomely to the women he had flings...
...
What makes you conclude that he had flings with them?
Yet, congress gets to use tax payer money to buy their accusers silence.
What’s wrong with this picture?
